We are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Operations Lead who thrives in a fast-paced environment to provide legal operations support to our legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will play a critical role in shaping and scaling our legal operations function. You’ll support process optimization, manage vendor relationships, and implement tools to drive efficiency across the Legal team and adapt seamlessly to an evolving regulatory environment.


StackAdapt is a Remote First company, and you will work as part of a highly collaborative remote global Legal team. We are open to candidates located in Canada or the US for this position; occasional travel may be required. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Analyze, refine, and implement workflows across the legal team to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and reduce redundancy; training / development for legal team members about new processes and technologies
  • Budget & Vendor Management: Collaborate with the General Counsel to develop and manage the legal department budget. Evaluate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with external vendors, including outside counsel, legal technology providers, and consulting firms
  • Data & Analytics: Create and maintain legal metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to measure department performance and communicate insights to leadership
  • Knowledge Management: Establish and manage internal legal knowledge repositories to promote consistency, ensure compliance, and empower the team with accessible resources
  • Technology & Tools Implementation: Identify and lead, or collaborate with other team members, concerning the deployment of legal, CLM, compliance, and privacy tech tools, to drive efficiencies across the team
  • Support Compliance & Risk Management: Work the Compliance Lead and with cross-functional teams such Business Operations, Procurement and Internal Audit, to ensure the legal team meets regulatory requirements, privacy standards, and internal policies
  • Project Management: Lead and support strategic projects, including transactional activity, contract standardization, and cross-functional initiatives that enhance the legal team's impact on the business
  • Key Performance Objectives: assist the department in setting its annual & long-term goals to enable growth and alignment with the company’s overall strategy
  • Champion and recommend process improvements to support in StackAdapt’s growth 

What you’ll bring to the table

  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations within a fast-paced, high-growth adtech or technology environment. Prior experience in a legal operations role is a must
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, using project management tools and techniques to deliver on complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, cost control, and vendor management
  • Familiarity with working alongside procurement teams
  • Strong understanding of legal tech tools (e.g., CLM, data analysis, workflow automation) with hands-on experience implementing and optimizing these solutions
  • Ability to analyze data and create reports that drive actionable insights and decision-making within the Legal team
  • Bachelor's Degree: Required in Business, Law, or a related field
  • Legal operations certification (CLOC, ACC, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of legal operational procedures; knowledge of statutes, and applicable regulations is a plus 
  • A positive, collaborative spirit, and a learning mindset 
  • Able to “own” and manage projects from beginning to end, with an internally driven sense of follow through
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity
