Nexus is the engine for verifiable finance — a blockchain designed to natively embed the world’s financial system into one compounding system. Built to support every major financial market on a single global exchange, Nexus unifies infrastructure that has historically been fragmented across chains and intermediaries.

Headquartered in San Francisco with a growing presence in Buenos Aires, Nexus is proud to be a cross-continental team of engineers, cryptographers, and market builders. We’re investing deeply in the Latin American ecosystem — and always looking for world-class talent to join us.

Nexus is backed by leading investors, including Pantera, Lightspeed, Dragonfly, Faction, Blockchain Builders Fund, Alliance, and SVA, and works with more than 100 partners across the global finance and blockchain stack.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Legal Intern to support our team for a 3-month internship. This part-time role is ideal for a current law student or recent graduate who wants hands-on experience across corporate and commercial legal work at a fast-moving company operating in the Web3 space.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders across the business to support legal research, drafting, and operational execution—helping ensure Nexus can move quickly while staying thoughtful and compliant.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Support the team in monitoring and analyzing regulatory developments in blockchain and cryptocurrency.

  • Corporate Governance: Assist with the review and organization of corporate governance matters.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across the company (including product, engineering, and business development) to provide legal insights and support.

What Success Looks Like
  • Legal research is delivered quickly, clearly, and with strong attention to detail.

  • Drafts and memos are well-structured, actionable, and easy for stakeholders to use.

  • The legal team is unblocked on day-to-day contract and compliance workflows.

  • Internal partners feel supported and can move faster because legal processes are organized and responsive.

What We’re Looking ForMust-Have
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a JD program at an accredited law school.

  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to communicate findings clearly.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.

  • Interest in blockchain, crypto, and Web3 concepts (or prior exposure through coursework, internships, or personal learning).

Bonus Points
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and switching between projects quickly.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep legal workstreams well-tracked.

Why Join Us
  • Gain hands-on experience supporting corporate and commercial legal work at a high-growth company.

  • Work cross-functionally with teams building at the frontier of crypto, AI, and finance.

  • Learn by doing—own real deliverables that directly support business execution.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
