We are seeking a motivated and ambitious attorney with 6+ years of proven technology law experience to join our dynamic legal team, supporting our privacy and AI efforts. The successful candidate will be located in the US (on a flexible or remote basis), reporting to the Global Head of Privacy and the Director, AI Legal. The position will be a key part of the Global Legal Team supporting strategic goals and providing legal support to ServiceNow's product and engineering organisations. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ServiceNow's expanding Legal team and to work on challenging global data and technology issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

What you get to do in this role:
- Advise on global data protection and privacy issues and regulatory requirements, and assist in carrying out data related risk assessments.
- Advise on legal issues related to data transfers, data sharing, data usage, analytics and metrics creation.
- Advise on AI matters, including governance, risk assessments and regulatory review, relating to AI development and deployment.
- Provide AI product counselling, and advise on IP, software, licensing and other product related legal matters.
- Advise on AI vendor engagements, third party integrations for AI products, and AI vendor risk assessments.
- Assist in the creation/maintenance/review of AI vendor and partner contracts, fallbacks, and contract playbooks.
- Partner with other Legal teams within ServiceNow on a wide variety of privacy and AI legal issues.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, and membership in at least one State bar
- At least 6+ years of relevant technology law experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department of a technology company.
- Experience in the interaction between privacy, data protection and technology related matters, including privacy risk assessments, privacy by design and an understanding of key global privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, US State level etc.).
- Experience in product counselling, IP, licensing, and technology transaction matters.
- Knowledge and understanding of AI related legal and governance requirements, and an understanding of key existing and emerging AI-specific laws.
- Experience in commercial contracts and excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- A demonstrated practical, real world, collaborative approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgement.
- Ability to assess risk and provide concise business-focused legal advice.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with internal clients.
