As Legal Counsel, you will work at the intersection of business, regulatory, and product development matters. You will collaborate with business partners and multidisciplinary experts to provide practical, clear, and business-focused legal advice.

What you’ll accomplish with us

As Legal Counsel, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to partners across various business areas;
  • Conduct legal and regulatory analyses, particularly in insurance and consumer protection, and provide clear, practical recommendations aligned with business needs;
  • Support the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes;
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements;
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of products and services, particularly insurance products and warranties;
  • Collaborate with business and multidisciplinary teams, as well as Compliance and Risk Management;
  • Actively participate in working groups and industry committees;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and organizational transformation initiatives.

What could accelerate your success in this role

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a university degree in law and is a member of the Barreau du Québec;
  • Has five or more years of relevant legal experience;
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and the ability to turn complex legal matters into practical solutions;
  • Shows intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and sound judgment;
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly;
  • Takes a collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented approach while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, evolving environment;
  • Ideally has experience in commercial and contract law, as well as knowledge of insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry;
  • Has an intermediate level of English proficiency, as the role requires frequent oral and written communication with the Dealer Services network across Canada and collaboration with unilingual English-speaking colleagues primarily located in Western Canada.
