Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions
- Participate in developing and delivering the Catalight Classroom high-quality, inclusive, and equity-informed education. This includes exceptional instructional design using development tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline, Camtasia, and Adobe products.
- Explore and build strong and collaborative partnerships with humans throughout our community.
- Use sound instructional design processes and adult learning methodology to plan, design, and develop classroom, online, instructor-led, synchronous, and asynchronous educational content and materials.
- A deep understanding of adult learners, andragogy principles, best practices in online learning, and experience with instructional design models like ADDIE.
- Implements Accessibility Guidelines across the learning catalog to ensure that learning experiences and training content assigned are accessible to all while ensuring our guidelines reflect alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, and Level AA international Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Works on cross-functional teams and multi-stakeholder environments with a standard of practice that acknowledges power and privilege.
- Manages the workflow of online course development, including reviewing, documenting, and supporting related services.
- Manages assigned programs and maintains currency of content by updating and enhancing materials to incorporate new techniques for improved delivery to learners.
- Collaborates to deploy curriculum; tests for functionality and tracking of content.
- Experience analyzing post-learning survey results to inform revision decisions and identify future content needs, driving continuous improvement in our courses.
Qualifications
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
- Three years' experience as an instructional design or learning experience designer, e-learning development experience required.
- Experience with Articulate Rise and Storyline required.
- Experience designing and developing compelling learning experiences for adult learners.
- Applicants must provide a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in Rise and Storyline.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
- A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating sound judgment, flexibility, patience,
and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Work in an exciting, fast-paced, high-energy environment while effectively multitasking and managing day-to-day responsibilities without supervision.
- Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Open to feedback, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement
- Deep knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Write compelling copy, instructional text, and audio scripts/video scripts.
- Updating tracking documents for internal and external use promptly, often while managing other projects.
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; frequent proofreading and checking of documents for accuracy.
- Must be highly detail-oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must communicate effectively within the work environment, read, and write using the primary language in the workplace.
- Visual and auditory ability to work with staff and others continuously.
- Frequent speaking and listening (20-80%) to staff and others in a remote work environment.
- For effective communication, use a computer, virtual meeting software (Zoom, Teams, etc.), and a cell phone.
Conditions of Employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
- Must attend any required training.
Time Type:
