Company Overview

At Veo, we are on a mission to end car dependency by making clean transportation accessible to all and advancing the next generation of fully electric micromobility systems. Our fleets are constantly evolving and feature a range of vehicles - from pedal and electric bicycles, to standing and seated e-scooters, e-cargo bikes, and ADA accessible devices. We design and build our own vehicles, hardware, and software systems in house and run all our local operations to provide safe, efficient, and responsive mobility services that make communities more sustainable and livable.  We are looking for exceptionally talented individuals who are ready to develop and implement new solutions to these exciting challenges.

Position Overview

The Learning & Development Project Manager is responsible for designing, updating, and delivering engaging training programs that equip Veo employees with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to excel in their roles. This position manages the end-to-end training lifecycle—from development and refresh of content to tracking completion, hosting summits, and driving employee growth through Veo Universality and other development initiatives. In addition, this role owns L&D analytics and reporting: defining KPIs, building dashboards, translating data into actionable insights, and delivering executive-ready presentations to leadership. The L&D PM also partners with Data/IT to leverage integrations that streamline data flows across platforms.

You’ll partner closely with operational leaders, subject matter experts, and the People & Culture team to ensure training is aligned with business goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.

This role is a hybrid role and you will be required to go into the office, located inside Santa Monica, CA, 4 days a week.

Responsibilities:

Training Content Management

  • Update and develop training materials for frontline, management, and support roles.
  • Ensure content reflects current policies, processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Create learning resources in multiple formats (e.g., videos, guides, e-learning modules, job aids).
  • Collaborate with SMEs  (Boosters) to maintain technical accuracy and operational relevance.

Training Delivery & Coordination

  • Oversee and track training completion across all markets.
  • Coordinate onboarding, role-specific upskilling, and refresher sessions.
  • Organize and facilitate periodic training summits for leadership and market teams.
  • Partner with managers to identify training needs and close performance gaps.

Employee Development

  • Lead ongoing employee development programs aligned with career pathways.
  • Monitor and report training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.

Analytics, Reporting & Integrations

  • Define L&D KPIs (e.g., adoption, completion, assessment performance, time-to-competency, training impact/ROI) and maintain a metric glossary.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) that surface trends, segment performance by market/role/tenure, and highlight risks/opportunities.
  • Deliver clear, executive-ready presentations and written readouts with insights, root causes, and prioritized recommendations; tailor narratives for leadership vs. field audiences.
  • Run analyses and experiments (e.g., A/B tests, cohort analysis, pre/post impact studies) to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.

Program Management

  • Maintain a structured training calendar and update content on a regular cadence.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and propose improvements based on learner feedback and business results.
  • Ensure all training programs meet compliance and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:
  • Proficiency in data & analytics for L&D: advanced Excel/Google Sheets to build dashboards and reports.
  • Strong data storytelling and presentation skills with a track record of producing executive-ready slide decks and business readouts that drive decisions.
  • 3+ years in Learning & Development, Training, or Program/Project Management (preferably in an operations, logistics, or service environment).
  • Proven experience designing and delivering engaging training content.
  • Strong skills in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills (in-person and virtual).
  • Proficient with LMS platforms (experience with Schoox, Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.).
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with  BI tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Experience in the micromobility, transportation, or logistics industry.
  • Integrations experience (plus): connecting platforms via APIs or middleware (e.g., LMS ↔ HRIS, Google Workspace, Slack, BI tools); familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Zapier/Make) or light scripting (e.g., SQL, Apps Script, Python) is a bonus.
  • Experience planning and executing training events and summits.
  • Familiarity with measuring training ROI and building executive dashboards.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $100,000 + Annual Performance Bonus + Equity (Stock Options) + Full Range of Benefits. Veo is a total compensation company, and pay is determined by geographic cost of labor and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training - so not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Our total compensation package for this role, including bonus potential, ranges from $90,000 to $105,000 per year.

Note: Veo benefit, bonus and stock programs may be subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program. The listed range is a good faith estimate, and exact compensation and total package may vary depending on market conditions and performance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
