Purpose
The main purpose of the Learning Design Specialist role is to collaborate with the subject matter experts to create high-quality e-Learning content. They bring adult learning theories and learning technologies into practice to enhance the learning experience and support learner success.
Success in this role is measured by
- Consistently meet the content delivery timeline agreed by the SMEs and the program team.
- Align all aspects of the course content with our quality standards and rubrics.
- Courses are well accepted by the learners with high NPS scores.
- Address all errors and improvement feedback in a timely manner.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with subject matter experts to assess learning needs and identify learning objectives.
- Identify the most appropriate instructional strategies and modalities to translate content into engaging and effective online learning.
- Collaborate with the SMEs and provide feedback on course storyboard, scripts, case studies, interactions, and exams.
- Apply design skills to bring together text, illustrations, video, audio, and animation into engaging e-Learning.
- Use e-Learning authoring tools to create interactive content.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the existing courses; combine surveys and assessment results to implement course improvements.
- Work with business clients on e-Learning delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories.
- Proficient with MS Office, especially PowerPoint.
- Proficient with e-Learning authoring tools (Articulate) and other technologies related to e-Learning development.
- Successful experience working with LMS and CMS programs.
- Knowledge in finance, data analysis, and related fields is an asset.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is:
- CAD $75,000 – $80,000 (Canada)
- USD $50,000-60,000 (United States)
