As the Learning & Development Manager, you'll shape the future of AoPS Academy by creating and executing transformative training programs that empower our educators and staff. This key leadership role combines strategic planning, educational expertise, and innovative thinking to build capabilities that drive organizational excellence.
The Learning and Development Manager will:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for learning and development that aligns with Academy goals by assessing current competencies, identifying gaps, and forecasting future training needs
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify training and development needs of campuses through observations, interviews, and surveys
- Design and execute both quick-win and long-term training programs for campus staff, ensuring alignment with business goals, curriculum philosophy, and campus needs while optimizing resource allocation
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure initiatives meet both campus community and HQ needs, tailoring training programs accordingly
- Continuous assessment and improvement of learning programs based on feedback and performance data by using various assessment tools to measure learning outcomes and adjusting programs as needed
- Strategically manage and optimize HQ L&D budget and collaborate with Campus Directors in the management of their budgets to maximize training impact and ROI
- Stay current with education and L&D trends to improve training programming
- Leverage modern learning technologies and platforms to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of training programs
- Completes other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
The ideal candidate has:
- Intimate knowledge of AoPS Academy roles and training needs
- Proven experience in designing and delivering professional development initiatives for educators and ability to effectively teach/train adult learners
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or related field
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, educational technologies, and adult learning theories
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Strong data analysis and decision-making abilities
- Strong leadership skills, including ability to inspire educators and resolve conflicts
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility to travel to different campuses as needed
Travel: Regular travel to Academy campuses required
The full salary range for this position is $100-130k with a 6% year-end bonus.

While our primary focus has been math for most of our history, through the years we have expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into more subjects, such as language arts, science, and computer science.
