There’s nothing like a great night’s sleep—the cozy, wrapped-up-in-a-heavy-blanket kind of sleep. The fire-crackling, curtains-drawn, DO NOT DISTURB kind of sleep. You know, the good stuff.
But here’s the thing: while 85% of people agree sleep is the key to their well-being, more than half are unsatisfied with their own. Whether it’s stress, interruptions, work, or little ones waking in the night, so many people need help getting truly restorative rest.
That’s where we come in. At Hatch, we’re on a mission to help people build better sleep habits—so they can feel more focused, energized, and present in their lives. We’ve designed best-in-class smart sleep devices, paired with science-backed sleep content, to help people unwind nightly, sleep deeply, and wake gently. More than 5 million sleepers of all ages have made space for rest with Hatch, with our baby products in 1 in 3 nurseries and our adult product, Restore, taking over nightstands (and TikTok) worldwide.
Now, we’re looking for a contract Lead Technical Recruiter to help us on our mission.
The Role: How You’ll Make an ImpactOur Talent team is growing, and we’re looking for a Lead Technical Recruiter to help us attract and hire top-tier technical talent across our growing Product, Engineering, Design and Analytics orgs. In this role, you’ll operate as both a strategic partner and tactical executor — leading high-priority searches, improving our sourcing funnel, and shaping what great hiring looks like at Hatch.
You’ll report to our Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition and work closely with hiring managers, interviewers, and executives across Hatch to build high-performing, values-aligned teams.
This role is remote-friendly but must be based in the U.S. or Canada. Hatch is based in California, so we ask that you’re available during PST/PDT hours.
What You’ll Do📆 Within 3 months:
- Own full-cycle recruiting for high-priority technical roles (engineering, product, data) and drive 30-day TTH and 60-day TTF targets from day one
- Design and execute sourcing strategies to build strong, values-aligned candidate pipelines
- Build deep partnerships with hiring managers, ensuring tight calibration and fast feedback loops
- Maintain data hygiene and pipeline visibility in Greenhouse, and contribute to weekly Recruiting Health Reviews
- Deliver best-in-class candidate experiences through every touchpoint—from cold outreach to offer close
🚀 Within 6 months:
- Maintain consistent ≤30 day Time-to-Hire (TTH) and ≤60 day Time-to-Fill (TTF) on open technical roles across product and engineering
- Own kickoff through close on 8-10 roles per quarter with strong “t-shirt size” workload balance
- Help build and train a high-performing interviewer pool on Hatch’s AI/Values/Competency criteria (Mission: AI Core)
- Track recruiting metrics to identify and resolve pipeline bottlenecks, and implement improvements to hit quarterly hiring SLAs
✨ After 1 year (if converted):
- Serve as a strategic thought partner in quarterly and annual technical headcount planning
- Contribute to Hatch’s evolution toward a bar-raising recruiting culture, including interviewer guilds, STAR training, and AI-enhanced process improvements
- Lead continuous improvement sprints across sourcing, calibration, and candidate experience to meet evolving business goals
- 8+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, with deep experience recruiting for technical roles in high-growth environments
- Strong sourcing chops and ability to build pipelines proactively
- Confidence leading searches end-to-end, including exec-level technical searches
- Strategic thinking combined with a strong get-things-done bias
- Comfortable in fast-paced, often ambiguous environments; startup experience a strong plus
- Familiarity with Greenhouse ATS (or similar), and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, or others
- A warm, collaborative approach that aligns with Hatch’s core values: Learn Faster, Pick Up a Shovel, Feedback is a Gift, Humans > Process, and Excellence Comes from Whole Humans
- Bonus: experience with AI sourcing tools, recruiting data analysis, or interviewer enablement
