Position Purpose:

Oversees the planning, design and implementation of system engineering projects. Provides technical direction in-line with business goals. Trains, mentors, and supports systems engineers. Installs, configures and upgrades and enhancements to software/hardware/network systems.

  • Oversees the planning, design and implementation of system engineering projects.
  • Leads the enhancement of processes, procedures, and policies relating to systems functioning and performance.
  • Meets with management team of multiple functional areas and vendors on the planning, upgrading, testing, securing, and servicing of IT solutions.
  • Provides technical direction in-line with business goals.
  • Develops, modifies, tests, implements, documents, and maintains systems software and hardware.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves server, operating system, and other infrastructure problems.
  • Monitors systems and networks for viruses, malfunctions, and errors.
  • Prepares network analytics, data reports, and operational manuals.
  • Performs troubleshooting and remediation, ensure successful project implementation, and perform post project end user support.
  • Manages project timelines, budgets, and documentation.
  • Trains the engineering team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 5 – 7 years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Cyber Security
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Shell scripting and Endpoint Engineering, network protocols
  • Linux and Windows server vulnerability remediation
  • Linux and Windows server OS patching
  • Automation (Ansible or similar)
  • Connections via API to systems (ServiceNow, Satellite or similar)

Soft Skills:

  • Intermediate - Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
  • Intermediate - Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Intermediate - Ability to work independently
  • Intermediate - Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Intermediate - Demonstrated project management skills
  • Intermediate - Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
  • Intermediate - Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills

License/Certification:

  • CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional preferred

Pay Range: $100,900.00 - $186,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
