Job Description SummaryThe Litigation & eDiscovery Paralegal supports GE HealthCare's litigation portfolio (commercial litigation, product liability, and vehicle accident claims, insured and uninsured) while owning execution of the legal hold and e-discovery process for matters in that portfolio. This role is the single point of contact for litigation counsel and custodians on both case support and preservation obligations, working closely with in-house and outside counsel, HR, IT, and forensic vendors.

Job DescriptionResponsibilities:

Litigation Support

  • Work closely with attorneys and the Litigation team, business units, and outside counsel on active matters.

  • Draft correspondence, subpoena responses, discovery responses, and presentations.

  • Locate and interview internal witnesses; coordinate logistics for related meetings.

  • Open, update, and close matter files in Onit.

  • Maintain litigation trackers and adverse event reporting for litigated and potential claims.

  • Schedule and calendar pretrial orders, interviews, and depositions; track upcoming deadlines.

  • Perform legal research and prepare summaries of routine and complex materials.

  • Assist with invoicing and quarterly budgeting tasks.

  • Assist with travel arrangements and expense reports.

Legal Hold & eDiscovery

  • Draft, issue, and manage Data Retention Notices (DRNs)/legal holds, including custodian tracking and releases, in coordination with each practice group.

  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact for attorneys, paralegals, HR, IT, and custodians on legal hold and discovery inquiries.

  • Support and coordinate forensic collections of company data with in-house/outside counsel, vendors, and IT.

  • Assist with e-discovery response and ensure timely compliance with legal requests.

Qualifications:

Related experience in a complex legal environment, either in-house or at a corporate law firm, or both including:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 7 years' litigation paralegal experience in a corporate or law firm environment. 

  • Demonstrated experience with legal hold and e-discovery processes and tools; Onit experience strongly preferred

  • Strong oral and written English communication skills, including grammar and composition

  • Advanced skills across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong time management skills; able to handle multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities

  • Ability to maintain security of highly confidential information; discretion required

  • Ability to work self-directed and flex hours periodically based on business needs

  • Notary public, or willingness to obtain

  • Experience working with global/virtual teams

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $96,000.00-$144,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
