You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and support of critical data provider systems in the SBS team, requiring strong technical and financial domain expertise, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Lead high-quality software development and delivery for the SBS team based in Columbus, setting standards through hands-on coding and design/code reviews.
- Drive excellence in design, analytics, development, coding, testing, and application programming to meet business and functional requirements.
- Apply expertise across technology domains to solve complex, mission-critical problems, and foster a culture of continuous learning and adoption of new technologies.
- Participate in and provide sign-off for peer and group code reviews.
- Develop and coach functional expertise in asset management trade and position lifecycle, progressively building knowledge and guiding the team on trade processes from front office to fund accounting.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Deep expertise in Java programming with ability to demonstrate skills during the hiring process.
- Proven experience in end-to-end lifecycle of large, complex application build-outs and delivery, ideally within financial organizations or top technology product teams.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying applications on Private or Public Cloud platforms.
- 7+ years as a software engineer, with a strong background in distributed systems, large data volumes, and real-time data distribution.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), DevOps practices, and test-driven agile delivery.
- Experience with middle-tier data caching (e.g., Gemfire, Apache Ignite) and/or messaging solutions (e.g., Kafka).
- Solid understanding of modern architectures: microservices, REST APIs, NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra), and event-driven design.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
