Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Lead Software Engineer – Mobile App Development to lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation mobile applications that power Cast & Crew’s digital experiences.
As a player-coach, you will be hands-on in building scalable mobile solutions while also guiding a team of engineers, collaborating with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality apps. Your focus will be on building intuitive, secure, and performant iOS and Android applications that transform how entertainment industry professionals manage payroll, compliance, and production workflows on the go.

Key ResponsibilitiesMobile App Architecture & Development
  • Lead the design and development of mobile applications for iOS and Android using frameworks such as React Native, Swift (SwiftUI (though UIKit and Objective-C).
  • =Define and implement scalable architecture patterns for cross-platform mobile apps.
  • Integrate mobile apps with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, backend microservices, and third-party services.
  • Ensure mobile solutions are secure, performant, and compliant with enterprise-grade standards.
Technical Leadership & Team Management
  • Act as a player-coach, contributing code while leading a team of mobile engineers.
  • Drive engineering best practices in code quality, performance optimization, CI/CD, and mobile app deployment.
  • Lead code reviews, architecture sessions, and cross-team collaboration with backend, DevOps, and QA engineers.
  • Mentor and grow junior and mid-level engineers.
Innovation & Product Impact
  • Collaborate with product managers and UX/UI designers to create intuitive, user-centric mobile experiences.
  • Drive AI-driven mobile features such as context-aware notifications, guided workflows, and predictive insights.
  • Leverage mobile analytics to improve app usability, performance, and user engagement.
  • Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, tools, and frameworks.
Operations & Support
  • Oversee app store deployment, release cycles, and version management.
  • Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting for production mobile apps.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in mobile app development.
  • Proven leadership experience as a tech lead or lead engineer.
  • Expertise in React Native, Swift(SwiftUI (though UIKit and Objective-C) , with strong understanding of cross-platform development.
  • Experience integrating mobile apps with cloud-based APIs (REST/GraphQL).
  • Strong knowledge of mobile app security, authentication, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with mobile CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience publishing apps to Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS, payroll, HR, or financial systems.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time mobile features.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration in mobile apps (recommendations, chatbots, predictive analytics).
  • Knowledge of mobile performance monitoring and observability tools (Firebase, New Relic, Datadog).
  • Contributions to mobile open-source projects or mobile developer communities.

Special Work Conditions    

  • Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. The compensation range for this position is: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year.
