Lead Senior Software Engineer, Acquisition (StubHub, Inc., Los Angeles, CA)


Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain next-generation technologies, complex features, and impactful improvements across platforms and products that will impact millions of users on a daily basis. Participate in and maintain culture of inclusion, results-oriented execution, open innovation, and limitless creativity in their team. Launch features that will have an immediate impact on the velocity of innovation and ultimately growth of the business. Work with domains related to advertising, marketing strategies, data privacy, and GDPR Data warehousing, data modeling, and data transformation for both batch and streaming. Utilize hands-on command programming languages such as C# and .net, Python, Scala, or Java as well as data exploration using SQL. Build performant data pipelines and optimizing existing workflows for new features. Utilize Big Data technology including Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Stream processing, Hive, and Presto. Perform sourcing and modeling data from application APIs, team-based software development tools, and best practices. Address and resolve significant technical challenges as a core contributor and innovator during back-end software development. Design and implement systems and services with an eye for elegance, maintainability, and practicality. Up to 5% travel required to company offices in New York City. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to StubHub Inc. at 1901 Avenue of the Stars, Century City, CA. Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Architect, or any occupation/position/job title involving backend software development.


In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept 3 years of post-secondary studies in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Architect, or any occupation/position/job title involving backend software development.


Must also have experience in the following:  4 years of professional experience managing individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with technical expertise; 4 years of professional experience analyzing performance across acquisition and retention and proposing new offerings that drive continual growth; 4 years of professional experience in distributed system performance measurement, logging, and optimization; 3 years of professional experience working with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations utilizing SQL; 3 years of professional experience with software development practices including source control, code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and profiling; 3 years of professional experience with end-to-end solution delivery involving multiple platforms and technologies with small to medium complexity or sub-systems of large, complex implementations, leveraging ETL solutions to acquire, integrate, and operationalize data; 3 years of professional experience building and implementing capabilities for continuous integration and continuous delivery aligned with Enterprise DevOps practices; 3 years of professional experience independently reviewing, preparing, designing, and integrating complex data (including type, quality, and volume), correcting problems, and recommending data cleansing and quality solutions to issues; 3 years of professional experience utilizing Protocol buffers and GRPC; and 2 years of professional experience utilizing Snowflake, C# and .net.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
