Own and evolve AWS infrastructure for a large enterprise data migration project: design AWS architecture, implement IaC (Terraform/CDK), build CI/CD pipelines, enable S3/CloudFront, ensure observability and security controls, and support Agile environment promotions and runbooks.
We are looking for a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer who can quickly immerse themselves in the ongoing processes, take full ownership of the infrastructure, organize CI/CD, configuration, and access management for the AWS environment for the data migration team, as well as ensure the further development of the infrastructure in accordance with the client’s business needs. This is a large enterprise project with multiple workstreams, and you will be integrated into the client’s team to support a variety of initiatives and tasks. Your role will be critical for the successful ongoing support of the client’s IT landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Design the target AWS architecture covering networking, compute, managed data services, content delivery, and security layers.
- Build end-to-end CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, container image creation, registry push, and rolling deployment across all environments.
- Provision cloud object storage for all application file storage needs, replacing local disk paths with an S3-backed solution.
- Set up CloudFront distributions for static frontend assets, replacing on-premises web server file serving.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, structured to support microservices decomposition.
- Establish observability: container metrics, structured logging pipelines, distributed tracing, and alerting dashboards.
- Implement security controls including network segmentation, WAF rules, encryption at rest and in transit, and least-privilege IAM roles.
- Participate in Agile/SCRUM processes, maintain infrastructure runbooks, and coordinate environment promotions and cutover planning.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of DevOps / cloud infrastructure engineering with deep AWS hands-on experience.
- Proficiency with AWS ECS / Fargate, ECR, load balancing, VPC design, and IAM role configuration.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) for .NET and frontend application delivery.
- Hands-on production experience with AWS RDS, Amazon MQ, S3, and CloudFront.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools at enterprise scale, including AWS CDK with TypeScript, Terraform.
- Experience with container health checks, auto-scaling policies, rolling deployments, and blue/green strategies.
- Proficient in Git and familiar with Agile/SCRUM team processes.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with CloudWatch Container Insights and OpenTelemetry-based observability stacks.
- Familiarity with AWS DMS for coordinating minimal-downtime database migration cutovers.
- Experience with multi-environment promotion pipelines including manual approval gates.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies for containerized and managed workloads.
- Experience with performance optimization and scalable cloud-native architectures.
We offer*:
- Flexible working format - remote, office-based or flexible
- A competitive salary and good compensation package
- Personalized career growth
- Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and trainings, centers of excellence, and more)
- Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing
- Education reimbursement
- Memorable anniversary presents
- Corporate events and team buildings
- Other location-specific benefits
*not applicable for freelancers

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
- Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
- Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
- Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
- Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
