Healthcare is broken at the first step: patients can't find the right care, understand what it costs, or access the medications they need. Mochi Health is fixing this.

We're building an AI-driven marketplace that makes healthcare discoverable—connecting patients to the right providers, transparent pharmacy pricing, and affordable medications. Over the past few years, we've grown rapidly by combining clinical expertise with technology that actually works for real people, not just hospital systems.

Our platform does what legacy healthcare can't: it gives patients transparent pricing before they pay, personalized medication management that follows them across providers, and long-term access to their own medical records. We're proving that healthcare can be more affordable, more human, and far more intuitive than what exists today.

Join a team that's rebuilding healthcare from the patient up. At Mochi Health, you'll work alongside people who value bold thinking, inclusive collaboration, and getting meaningful work into the world. If you want to do the most impactful work of your career, this is where to do it.

The Role

Mochi is scaling fast, and we're looking for a Lead Recruiter to build and run our recruiting function. You'll manage a team of senior and associate recruiters, own our highest-stakes searches personally, and set the strategy and standards for how Mochi hires across engineering, product, clinical, and operations.

This is a builder role. You'll inherit a recruiting team that's already moving fast and shape it into a world-class hiring engine: better pipelines, sharper interview loops, higher offer acceptance, and a candidate experience that reflects the caliber of the company we're building. You'll partner directly with our executive team on workforce planning and own the metrics that determine whether Mochi can scale at the pace we need.

You'll lead the team, but you'll also stay close to the work. The hardest executive and leadership searches will run through you personally.

What You'll Do
  • Manage a team of senior and associate recruiters and coordinators, setting goals, coaching on craft, and holding the bar on quality and velocity
  • Personally own end-to-end hiring for executive and leadership searches across engineering, product, clinical, and operations
  • Partner with the executive team on workforce planning, headcount strategy, and prioritization across functions
  • Design and continuously improve our hiring processes: interview loops, scorecards, competency frameworks, and decision-making rubrics
  • Establish recruiting operations rigor: ATS hygiene, funnel metrics, pipeline health reporting, and tooling decisions
  • Build proactive sourcing pipelines for the roles that will define Mochi's next phase of growth
  • Lead offer strategy and closing for senior and executive candidates, with a team-wide target of 80%+ offer acceptance
  • Be the executive partner hiring managers trust when a search is stuck, a candidate is wavering, or a new function needs to be built from zero
  • Shape Mochi's employer brand and candidate experience across every touchpoint
What You Bring

Required:

  • 8-10+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with deep technical recruiting expertise (software engineering, product, data)
  • 2+ years managing recruiters, with a track record of developing people and raising team-wide performance
  • Demonstrated ability to personally close executive and senior leadership roles
  • Experience building or substantially improving a recruiting function in a high-growth environment
  • Expertise in behavioral interviewing, structured assessments, and interview processes that produce consistent signal
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management with founders, C-suite, and senior hiring managers
  • Fluency with Greenhouse, Lever, or similar ATS, and comfort with recruiting analytics, funnel metrics, and workforce planning
  • High judgment, high agency, and the ability to operate with minimal oversight

Preferred:

  • Experience recruiting in healthcare, telehealth, or digital health, including clinical or physician leadership hiring
  • Deep knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area talent market
  • Experience standing up a recruiting function from scratch or scaling one through a critical growth phase
  • Programming or scripting fluency (helpful for screening engineering candidates and building recruiting tooling)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
