Job Description

Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Night Shift 10:00PM to 6:30AM)
Hourly Rate: $30–$35

We are seeking an experienced Lead QC Operator to oversee the quality control process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and the highest industry standards across all projects. This role involves technical QC expertise, workflow management, team leadership, and client communication.

Quality Control and Technical Expertise

• Set up and calibrate playback devices, QC bays, monitors, and scopes according to established specifications.
• Perform comprehensive mastering-level QC inspections, identifying and documenting audio, video, and film impairments or anomalies.
• Verify format, aspect ratio, audio configuration, and metadata to ensure compliance with client specifications.
• Utilize waveform monitors, audio meters, and other industry-standard tools to conduct precise technical assessments.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy across multiple versions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to file integrity, playback, and media formats.

• Serve as the primary liaison between the QC team and management, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries, provide updates, and address concerns to maintain strong client relationships.
• Oversee and manage the QC workflow, ensuring projects are completed on time and with precision.
• Track project progress, maintain accurate documentation, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and uphold quality standards.
• Ensure the proper maintenance and utilization of all necessary tools, equipment, and materials.

• Provide support, troubleshooting assistance and technical guidance to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience as a Mastering QC Operator in a professional post-production facility or studio.
• Expertise in identifying film, video, and audio impairments, including root causes and solutions.
• Proficiency with SD, HD, 2K, UHD, 4K, HDR-10, and Dolby Vision workflows.
• Extensive experience with file-based formats, including TIFF, DPX, J2K, Apple ProRes, and IMF packages.
• Advanced proficiency with DaVinci Resolve and Colorfront Transkoder, including timeline setup, output settings, and clip properties.
• Ability to read and interpret MaxFALL and MaxCLL HDR reports.
