About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a customer-centric Lead Product Owner to support the build of our next-generation Supply Chain Finance (SCF) platform. Partnering closely with Product, Technology, Risk, Operations, and Business stakeholders, you will translate strategy into clear, actionable backlog items and lead agile delivery squads to ship high-quality capabilities that elevate client experience and business results.
This role sits within the Commercial Bank's Supply Chain Finance business and is integral to delivering the SCF platform's end-to-end outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Own the Backlog & Outcomes
  • Translate product strategy into a prioritized backlog with well-formed epics/features/user stories; continuously refine scope and acceptance criteria to drive measurable customer and business value.
  • Establish and track product goals and KPIs/OKRs, ensuring delivery stays aligned to vision, regulatory expectations, and risk controls.
Drive Customer-Centered Delivery
  • Facilitate frequent collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and scrum teams; synthesize feedback into backlog updates and release plans
  • Partner with our Client Advisory Board program to ingest insights and close the "feedback-to-action" loop within sprints and quarterly planning.
Enable High-Velocity, High-Quality Execution
  • Lead sprint ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews) with Technology to ensure clarity, flow, and quality; review and accept completed work against defined DoD/DoR.
  • Coordinate dependencies across squads and product areas to deliver cohesive, omni-channel experiences on a modern SCF platform.
Anchor on Risk, Compliance & Governance
  • Embed policy, SDLC, and control requirements into stories and release processes; maintain transparent documentation and auditability.
Elevate Team Craft & Continuous Improvement
  • Champion agile and product best practices; coach partners on discovery, experimentation, and data-informed decisions that improve speed and outcomes.
As the ideal candidate, you are:
  • A Builder with Bias for Action: You thrive in complex environments, turning ambiguity into clarity and momentum through crisp backlog management and decisive prioritization.
  • A Customer-Obsessed Problem Solver: You translate qualitative and quantitative insights into simple, valuable solutions-and keep client experience at the center.
  • A Cross-Functional Connector: You collaborate seamlessly with Technology, Risk, Operations, and Business partners to ship secure, scalable capabilities on a modern platform.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, leading testing/feature acceptance, and managing a backlog for agile delivery teams
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in Financial Services/Commercial Banking/Supply Chain Finance or other B2B platforms.
  • Proven collaboration across multiple scrum teams, delivery leads, and cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, XD, data).
  • Familiarity with SDLC/policy requirements and embedding risk, compliance, and controls into product delivery.
  • Strength in customer discovery, insight synthesis, and metrics-driven prioritization (OKRs/KPIs).
Job Expectations:
  • Travel: 10% of the time
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process
Posting End Date:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
