Job Description:
The Lead Product Manager at Nielsen is an essential catalyst for innovation within the audience measurement landscape. In this role, the PM will not only translate Nielsen's corporate strategy into compelling, market-aligned products but also embody the broader responsibilities of a product manager by overseeing the entire product lifecycle. This involves identifying opportunities, validating product-market fit, defining the vision, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver products that delight our customers.
Resposibilities
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
- Translate Nielsen’s corporate vision into strategies the Product organization can effectively implement
- Managing a team of 2-4 product managers in a “player coach” role that still involves rolling up sleeves and executing
- Define and prioritize a product roadmap based on proven business cases, customer feedback, and market dynamics
- Measure product financial performance and implement new product pricing strategies to maximize ROI
- Set and track ROI goals for each product, ensuring they deliver value and align with broader business objectives
- Track and enforce contractual commitments to inform product roadmap and prioritization
- Drive cross-functional project teams integrating data science with software engineering practices to innovate and enhance analytical tools and applications
- Establish and maintain a feedback loop between Product, Commercial, and Engineering teams to prioritize feature development
- Oversee the end-to-end development process, ensuring products are launched successfully and meet customer expectations
- Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding of Nielsen products to internal and external stakeholders
- Manage quality assurance protocols, ensuring that all product changes, deployments, and computational metrics meet the highest standards
- Understand and react to the changing media landscape, ensuring resilient solutions that meet client needs;
- Support commercial and legal conversations by assisting with agreement drafting, pricing, and scoping of the measurement capabilities;
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is often preferred
- 7+ years experience in product management or a similar discipline in a SaaS or DaaS environment
- 2+ years of direct people leadership experience
- Additional certifications in Product Management, Agile methodologies, or related areas can be advantageous
- Prior experience in Audience Measurement / Media industry is a plus
- Strong ability to creatively problem solve complex problems while considering multiple perspectives
- Managed a P&L demonstrating ability to prioritize based on business case Knowledge of project and product management tools like Jira and Aha
- Familiarity with complex data methodologies to combine data assets into products
- Experience with big data analytics and data flows
- Experience in writing technical specifications and technology requirements
- Nimble with fail-fast mindset to drive rapid iterations of product development Strong time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to present effectively to upper management
- A customer-first approach by anchoring and solving customer problems rapidly, aligning data-driven decisions with customer needs
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamically changing environment
- Experience leading client discovery and working with clients, partners and industry bodies

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $50,000 - $185,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
