About Quora:

Quora’s mission is to grow the world's collective intelligence. To do so, we have two platforms:

  • Quora: a global knowledge sharing platform with millions of monthly unique visitors, bringing people together to share insights on various topics and providing a unique platform to learn and connect with others.

  • Poe: a cloud workspace where millions of users run multiple AI agents on shared context and tools. One subscription, every frontier model, and the collaboration layer that makes them work together.

Behind these products are passionate, collaborative, and high-performing global teams. We have a culture rooted in transparency, idea-sharing, and experimentation that allows us to celebrate success and grow together through meaningful work. Join us on this journey to create a positive impact and make a significant change in the world.

This role will be working on our Quora product.

About the Team and Role:

Our product managers excel at and are responsible for guiding, enabling, and accelerating the efforts of our designers, engineers, and data scientists to build and ship successful products. Even though we've experienced significant growth, we're still a small team where each PM needs to own a significant portion of the product experience, so in this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive company-level impact, influence overall company strategy, and interface regularly with product leadership and the executive team.

We're looking for a Product Manager to lead user-centric growth initiatives across Quora's core product experience, focused on expanding our top-of-funnel acquisition, improving activation, and unlocking new growth levers across web and mobile. This includes crafting engaging user experiences, running a high-velocity experimentation program, aligning cross-functional teams, and generating user insights that inform long-term platform strategy.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the end-to-end user growth funnel, with a focus on top-of-funnel acquisition, activation, and early retention across web and mobile surfaces

  • Deeply understand users both on and off the platform and build engaging experiences that expand Quora’s reach to new demographics

  • Manage ambiguity, complexity, and cross-functional interdependencies in a fast-paced environment, doing what it takes to make the product successful

  • Partner closely with engineering, design, data science, and product operations to define, build, iterate, and ship high-quality growth experiences at scale

  • Define objectives, metrics, and guardrails to guide prioritization and measure success

  • Run structured experimentation across the funnel, using quantitative and qualitative insights to inform product strategy and roadmap

  • Monitor and analyze industry and product trends to identify new strategic growth levers that drive user growth, audience expansion, and product retention

Minimum Requirements:
  • Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)

  • 5+ years combined experience in Product Management

  • Demonstrated experience driving user growth on a consumer product, with a track record of measurable impact on acquisition, activation, or retention metrics

  • Excellent communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users, and other audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions and scale products through experimentation

  • Strong foundation in user research and design principles, with a track record of leveraging insights to launch winning user experiences

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience working on user-generated content (UGC) platforms, marketplaces, aggregators, or content-driven consumer products

  • Experience growing UGC products with heavy SEO traffic and a strong understanding of organic search as an acquisition channel

  • BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
