Job Description

Experian Consumer Services is looking for a strategic and execution-driven Lead Product Manager to lead the growth and transformation of our personal loans marketplace. This role is ideal for a product leader passionate about building the best, user-centric experiences, with an understanding of lead generation, lending, and digital marketplaces. As an important member of the Marketplace Product team, you'll improve innovation and execution through an empowered product operating model and partner with the Personal Loans General Manager. You will report to the Vice President, Product – D2C Marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end product vision and roadmap for the Personal Loans Marketplace, delivering a clear and personalized loan shopping experience that meets users' financial needs and guides conversion.
  • Develop a multi-year product strategy, informed by trends, partner and internal capabilities, and consumer insights. Your strategy should differentiate Experian's value proposition and lead long-term user outcomes.
  • Accomplish the product roadmap, from discovery to launch and iteration, including user research, experience design, feature prioritization, engineering execution, testing, go-to-market, and funnel optimization.
  • Be a product contact for implementation, working directly with internal engineering teams and third-party partners to scope and create features that meet requirements and enhance platform capabilities.
  • Advance Experian's marketplace platform, ensuring seamless integration into the broader Experian.com and mobile app ecosystem—extending users' personal finance journey from monitoring and protection to lending, savings, and debt management.
  • Infuse regulatory and partner requirements into all aspects of product delivery, setting business and compliance standards for each new personal loan improvement.
  • Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to develop go-to-market plans that attract users with loan or savings intent and increase engagement among current members.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience, delivering consumer-facing financial products within marketplaces, FinTech, or financial institutions.
  • 3+ years of experience building or operating comparison marketplaces, including personal loans and related financial products (e.g., credit cards, mortgages, auto loans).
  • Experience launching products from concept through release, focusing on meeting real customer needs (Jobs to Be Done).
  • Experienced in primary product management practices: defining user stories and requirements, developing wireframes, running A/B and multivariate tests, and analyzing product performance at scale.
  • Experience working in Agile or Lean environments, collaborating across product, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
  • Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners, with the ability to align diverse partners.
  • Experience mentoring and developing product managers or product owners to improve team capability and effectiveness.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business/Marketing, or a related technical field (preferred)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
