As a Lead Product Manager, you will manage product development for the Consumer Commerce team, focusing on revenue generation and the product lifecycle while leading and coaching a small team.
The summary above was generated by AI

Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family’s pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We’re growing and adding more talent to help fulfil this valuable mission. That’s where you come in.

The Challenge to Solve

As a Lead Product Manager you will be working on one of our fastest growing product areas, which is critical to enabling the “reverse franchise” product offering that we provide to independent pizzerias and restaurants.

The Role

As a leader within Product Management, you will spearhead the product development within the Consumer Commerce team, an area which focuses heavily on topline revenue generation for our shop partners. Your team will improve, iterate and build new products that serve as the direct connection between shops and their pizza loving consumers. You will be responsible for a coherent portfolio of features and be accountable for the entire product lifecycle, whilst identifying new areas of investment (new projects) for the product or area.

We are hiring one person for this role. While this position is advertised in multiple countries, we will make a single hire who may be based remotely in the US, Canada, or the UK.

The Team

You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders such as Design, Go-To-Market and Operations. You’ll have direct peer support from two Lead Product Managers who lead adjacent teams, meaning this position is one of three top level Product roles reporting directly to the Head of R&D. You’ll also have direct line management and leadership responsibilities for a small team. The day-to-day team activity includes defining simple, elegant solutions from understanding user needs and identifying when they may need to seek further research. You’ll be the product expert for Consumer Commerce with a deep understanding of the users, market, and technology while fostering innovation across the whole team by creating space for it to happen.

The Winning Recipe

We’re looking for a Lead Product Manager with a true founder’s mindset; someone who takes bold ownership, challenges the status quo and builds products that drive real business impact for small business operators. This role is for a hands-on product leader who combines sharp analytical thinking, strong people leadership and a deep customer obsession. Who will partner cross-functionally to turn strategy into impact. Our ideal candidate has:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in commerce or consumer marketplace domains.
  • Deeply customer-centric, with empathy for small business owners and frontline operators.
  • Thinks like a founder: takes end-to-end ownership from opportunity identification through to measurable results.
  • Moves with urgency and clarity in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering business outcomes (revenue, retention, growth), not just shipping features.
  • A strong track record as a high performing individual contributor first and foremost, our leaders all ‘lead by doing’.
  • Direct line management experience of Product Managers, with a passion for coaching and raising the standard.
  • Highly analytical: comfortable forming hypotheses from data and designing structured experiments to test them.
  • Experienced with product analytics tools and confident independently diving into data.
  • Fluent in agile software development and experienced working closely with Engineering.
  • Strong product judgment with the confidence to make hard trade-offs and defend clear priorities.
  • Passionate about Design Thinking and partnering strategically with Product Design
  • Meticulous with details while maintaining a strong grasp of long-term strategy
  • Excellent written and asynchronous communication skills for remote collaboration
  • Familiarity with the pizza or restaurant industry is a plus

The Extras

Working at Slice comes with a comprehensive set of benefits, but here are some of the unexpected highlights:

  • Flexible PTO
  • Market leading medical, vision and dental insurance
  • 401K matching up to 4%
  • Monthly wellness reimbursement/stipend
  • Weekly pizza stipend (Yes, that’s a thing!)

Salary Range: $200,000 to $280,000 + equity

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.

The Hiring Process

Here’s what we expect the hiring process for this role to be, should all go well with your candidacy. This entire process is expected to take 1-3 weeks to complete and you’d be expected to start on a specific date.

  • Application
  • 30-minute introductory meeting
  • 45-minute Hiring Manager meeting
  • 45-minute Peer meeting
  • 45-minute Cross-functional meeting
  • Offer!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
