HI! 👋

Capsule is building the future of AI-powered video creation for enterprise teams. Led by serial founders who have scaled creative platforms to 100s of millions of users, we’re backed by top investors, including those behind Webflow, Figma, Slack, and Replit.

We’re growing fast. Just a few months after leaving public beta, Capsule is already helping leading brands like HubSpot, ServiceNow, and Instacart create professional, on-brand videos at scale.

We’re looking for an immensely talented and visionary product designer to join our founding team at Capsule. This is a unique opportunity for a highly-experienced product designer with a strong aesthetic/visual sensibility who is ready to make their mark and help us build the creative video tools of the future.

You’ll work directly with our co-founder and CEO and will have the opportunity to make an enormous impact on our company and product.

You
  • You’re a visionary designer who can articulate ideas with detail and precision

  • You love working through big ideas but obsess over the smallest details (subpixels)

  • You work fast and enjoy the rapid pace of an early-stage start up

  • You’re a swiss army knife of design. UX, UI, motion, visual – you can and want to do it all

  • You’re a Figma savant and know how to prototype and test designs with others

  • You love thinking in motion and have at least an interest in video/animation

  • You have fun working with other highly-skilled team players in a zero-ego work environment

  • You’re highly motivated, entrepreneurially minded and have off-the-charts EQ

The Job
  • Lead and execute all design projects (80% product, 20% brand/marketing/sales)

  • Work closely with co-founders to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges

  • Bring ideas to the table to expand the capabilities of the product and delight customers

  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes

  • Talk to customers to gather feedback to develop the best execution of every new feature

  • Build a world-class design team (3-5 hires planned for this year)

The Perks
  • Shape a video/design tool going after a $50B opportunity

  • Work with highly-motivated, talented, fun and creative people

  • Competitive compensation including salary and stock options

  • Comprehensive insurance benefits – medical, dental, vision

  • Generous paid time off

  • Hybrid work environment in LA—relocation covered

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
