What you'll do
You'll work across the Growth Platform portfolio, setting direction and leading design across several core areas:
- Modernization & craft leadership: Elevate the overall look, feel, and narrative of our website to reflect a modern, premium, AI-first technology company. Set an exceptional bar for visual hierarchy, typography, motion, grid systems, responsive design, and interaction quality. Help evolve our website design system to create greater cohesion, quality, and scalability across the experience.
- User engagement & activation: Design innovative landing, discovery, and onboarding experiences that communicate product value, capture customer intent, and turn interest into meaningful product engagement. Use experimentation and customer insights to improve conversion and early-lifecycle activation.
- Journey-led architecture & JTBD: Help shift our website strategy from disconnected pages and templates toward cohesive, intent- and persona-driven journeys. Architect experiences that guide customers seamlessly from discovery and evaluation through trial, adoption, and deeper engagement with Atlassian.
- AI-powered experiences & ways of working: Explore how AI can reshape both how customers discover Atlassian and how we design and build for them. Design for emerging AI-powered discovery and answer-engine experiences, ensuring Atlassian's products and content are structured and experienced effectively across generative search surfaces. Partner closely with Engineering to prototype new AI-first experiences and evolve the tools and workflows we use to rapidly design, test, and publish experiences on the site.
- Cross-functional influence & mentorship: Partner with leaders across Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Content, and Analytics to shape strategy and champion a design-led approach to growth. Mentor other designers, elevate the quality of critique and decision-making, and help raise the craft bar across the broader Growth organization.
Candidate Profile
What You Bring
You have 10+ years of product design experience, with a track record of leading complex, high-visibility web or digital product initiatives from strategy through execution.
- Exceptional visual & interaction craft: You bring an exceptional craft bar and a strong point of view on contemporary digital experiences. You're highly skilled in visual design, typography, spatial layout, motion and micro-interactions, responsive design, and design systems, and you know how to turn those elements into experiences that feel cohesive, distinctive, and polished.
- AI-first prototyping & tooling: You're comfortable using AI as part of how you think, design, and make. You have experience prototyping in code and using AI-powered tools to move quickly from ideas to working experiences. You are familiar with generative UI, AI-assisted workflows, personalization, and designing AI-native experiences.
- Journey-driven systems thinking: You think beyond individual pages and features, designing interconnected experiences and scalable frameworks grounded in customer intent, personas, journeys, information architecture, and Jobs to Be Done.
- Strategic vision & comfort with ambiguity: You can take complex business goals and ambiguous problem spaces and turn them into compelling future-state visions. You use storytelling and prototyping to make ideas tangible, build alignment, and translate long-term direction into actionable roadmaps and near-term opportunities.
- Data-informed & outcome-oriented: You connect design decisions to measurable customer and business outcomes across acquisition, conversion, engagement, and activation. You partner with Analytics and Research to form and validate hypotheses, while knowing when data should inform the experience and when strong design judgment should lead.
- Collaborative leadership & influence: You build trust across disciplines and levels, communicate a clear design point of view, and bring others along with you. You're comfortable influencing senior and executive stakeholders and partnering deeply with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Content, Research, and Analytics.
What Would Set You Apart
- Experience designing high-traffic marketing websites, web platforms, digital storefronts, or other large-scale customer-facing web experiences.
- Experience working in Growth, experimentation, conversion optimization, or lifecycle activation.
- Experience operating across organizational boundaries, where influence, alignment, and systems thinking matter as much as direct ownership.
