What you will do:
  • Lead end-to-end design for marketing, editorial, and information-rich web and mobile experiences, often within CMS-driven environments.
  • Create and maintain design systems and reusable patterns, ensuring scalability, consistency, polish, and long-term quality across projects.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-discipline teams, providing design leadership that aligns product, engineering, and strategy toward cohesive solutions, while exploring innovative approaches and challenging assumptions.
  • Lead workshops and presentations as a primary design partner to clients, building trust and credibility through clear storytelling, strategic communication, and demonstration of design impact.
  • Use motion and interaction design strategically to elevate design, enhancing clarity, guiding user attention, and reinforcing experiences in a way that communicates intent, delight, and craftsmanship.
What you will achieve:
  • Deliver design experiences that users trust and teams can scale, turning insight into intuitive solutions across flows, screens, and interactions.
  • Bring clarity to complex, ambiguous challenges, helping teams and clients make confident, informed decisions faster and with less friction.
  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment, ensuring teams share a common vision and make measurable progress together.
  • Elevate client confidence as a strategic design partner, demonstrating the value of thoughtful design through storytelling, workshops, and persuasive presentations.
  • Advance the quality and consistency of design work across projects, using design systems, motion, and interaction to raise standards and inspire better outcomes.
About you:
  • You have 6+ years of experience in visual, product, or digital design.
  • You thrive in ambiguity, exploring complex challenges with curiosity and turning them into clear, value-driven product experiences.
  • You’re excited by storytelling and strategy, articulating design decisions clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.
  • You are an advocate for collaboration, guiding cross-functional teams through thoughtful communication, alignment, and shared problem-solving.
  • You lead through influence and example, bringing a high level of care and attention to detail to your work, with pride for design quality, visual craft, interaction, and motion.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
