Turtle Rock is looking for a driven, Lead Producer who is excited about making the next great cooperative first person shooter game.  The job will be working with the game development Leads and the rest of the Production team. We're looking for someone to coordinate between groups, facilitate communication, and resolve roadblocks not only when they come to your attention, but before they become a reality. Responsibilities

  • Champion content and feature development by working with Leads and the rest of the Production team on maintaining a clear project schedule and tracking team capacity
  • Work with Directors and the Executive Producer on internal initiatives for improving internal pipelines, creating long term plans, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and leads owning a feature/content/team to identify risks and create mitigation plans
  • Mentor direct reports and other associates and mids. Help provide oversight for your areas of concern by monitoring and understanding all schedules owned by your reports' teams
  • Clearly communicate progress and compare that to initial expectations, provide clear communication when circumstances change or force a conversation when change is needed
  • Recognize that Production style or methodology is not one size fits all; utilize your diverse toolbox of production skills and best practices to best support game sub-teams.
  • Champion production best practices that are tailored to the teams and the work they need to do.  
  • Balance day to day maintenance with long-term planning; need to recognize that production is not only about fighting fires
  • Get to know your team: pace, velocity, progress, ownership.  Know what a critical change can do to the schedule and work with the team to determine what is best for the game
  • Recognize where to track documentation, who to alert, and reach out via multiple streams to share information. Recognize value of repeating information in several mediums
  • Play the game regularly and give feedback as the game develops  

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in game development with one or more AAA titles shipped on multiple platforms
  • 2+ years experience in a Lead role managing and mentoring direct reports
  • Good sense of perspective - able to switch between "details" and "big picture" as needed
  • Experience with scheduling tools
  • Expertise with JIRA and other task management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to create a long term planning solution and put it into practice; able to extend beyond just their team and create a schedule for an entire content pipeline laying out capacity for all departments and clearly identifying and visualizing critical paths
  • Willingness to accept candid feedback on leadership and team growth. Listen and make people feel heard
  • Must be able to effectively communicate risks and obstacles both to managed team members, as well as Senior Leadership
  • Capable of multitasking and managing several important items at once, without allowing anything to be lost in the process

Preferences

  • Background in Art, Design or Engineering
  • Experience working on cooperative FPS games
  • Experience working with remote studios and contractors
  • Experience shipping console game titles

The estimated base pay range for this role is: $135,000 - $170,000 USD
