Position Summary

The Lead Process Engineer is responsible for documenting, designing, and continuously optimizing the operating processes that power AIO Logic’s AXIS platform and its client implementations across the BFSI ecosystem.

This role serves as the process architect at the intersection of:

  • BFSI domain experts (credit, collateral, servicing, accounting)
  • Product and Engineering teams
  • Client Implementation and Client Success teams

The Lead Process Engineer’s mandate is to eliminate fragmentation across data, systems, roles, and workflows by translating real-world lender operations into automation-ready, auditable, and scalable process architectures embedded directly into AXIS.

This is a foundational role in AIO Logic’s mission to transform BFSI operations from manual, people-dependent execution into a system-driven, automated operating model.

Key Responsibilities

AXIS Process Architecture & Operating Model Design

  • Own end-to-end process documentation and architecture across AXIS, including:
  • Loan origination, underwriting, and onboarding
  • Loan servicing, amendments, and lifecycle events
  • Borrowing base automation and ineligible analysis
  • Collateral monitoring (A/R, inventory, reserves, eligibility)
  • Financial spreading, portfolio analytics, and reporting
  • Loan accounting and compliance workflows

Decompose lender operations into standardized process modules that are:

  • Reusable across clients
  • Parameterized by credit policy
  • Executable by software rather than manual intervention
  • Define process taxonomies, states, events, controls, and exception paths aligned with AXIS data and workflow engines

Automation-First Process Engineering

Design all processes with an automation-first mindset, explicitly identifying:

  • Straight-through processing paths
  • Decision rules versus judgment-based steps
  • Deterministic logic versus AI-assisted automation

Partner with Product and Engineering to translate process designs into:

  • Workflow orchestration
  • Rules engines
  • AI-enabled analytics and automation components

Ensure AXIS workflows are auditable, explainable, and regulator-ready

Client Implementation & Migration Enablement

•         Serve as the process authority during client implementations

•         Define and govern:

•         Current-state to future-state process mappings

•         Data migration, normalization, and transformation flows

•         Cutover, validation, and parallel-run processes

•         Reduce implementation risk by ensuring process clarity precedes configuration

•         Identify recurring client-specific deviations and convert them into platform-level patterns

Embedded Risk, Controls & Compliance

•         Engineer controls directly into workflows, rather than layering them on post hoc

•         Ensure platform support for:

•         Credit policy enforcement

•         Eligibility and advance-rate logic

•         Approval hierarchies and audit trails

•         Data lineage and explainability

•         Partner with client Risk, Credit, Audit, and Compliance teams to ensure AXIS processes are defensible in examinations and audits

Metrics, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

•         Define process KPIs aligned to AIO Logic’s value proposition, including:

•         Cycle-time reduction

•         Error and exception rates

•         Automation coverage

•         Cost-to-serve reduction

•         Use AXIS data to create closed-loop feedback between:

•         Client behavior

•         Platform usage

•         Process design improvements

•         Continuously evolve the platform’s process layer using Lean and systems-engineering principles

Internal Enablement & Methodology Ownership

•         Act as a steward of AIO Logic’s process and implementation methodology

•         Create and maintain:

•         Reference architectures

•         Process blueprints

•         Playbooks and training materials

•         Mentor implementation leads, subject-matter experts, and product managers on process thinking vs. task execution

•         Elevate how AIO Logic communicates about process with clients, partners, and the market

Core Competencies

•         Process & Systems Thinking

•         Automation-First Design

•         BFSI Operating Model Expertise

•         Workflow & Rules Engineering

•         Risk, Controls & Compliance Integration

•         Client Implementation Enablement

•         Cross-Functional Leadership

•         Metrics-Driven Continuous Improvement

•         Executive & Technical Communication

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience designing or owning end-to-end process architecture within regulated financial services or SaaS platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Must be located in the United States
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred, not required
  • Demonstrated experience translating real-world operational requirements into coherent, scalable workflows and systems
  • Proven ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Operations, Clients)
  • Strong familiarity with commercial lending, structured finance, or loan servicing strongly preferred

Technology & Domain Fluency

  • End-to-end process modeling (BPMN or equivalent)
  • Workflow orchestration and decision frameworks
  • Rules engines and policy-driven logic
  • Data normalization and integration patterns
  • Comfort partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams

BFSI Domain Expertise (Preferred)

  • Deep intuition for asset-based lending (ABL) and specialty finance operations
  • Strong understanding of risk, controls, and audit realities
  • Ability to engage credibly with:
    • Credit officers
    • Collateral analysts
    • Controllers and CFOs

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape the core operating model of a next-generation fintech SaaS platform
  • High-impact role influencing product architecture, client success, and regulatory readiness
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on automation, rigor, and outcomes
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives
  • Comprehensive benefits package and long-term growth opportunities

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
