Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Product Manager to lead the development of Computational Quality Software, bridging the gap between Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Technology, and Software Engineering. This role is designed for a systems thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can translate complex quality and manufacturing challenges into innovative software solutions that drive process excellence and operational efficiency. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of computational quality systems and help build software that empowers engineers to solve real-world manufacturing challenges with data. If you’re passionate about quality, data, and people, and can translate that passion into scalable software solutions, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a Product Manager on the Software Engineering team, you will be responsible for defining and delivering software solutions that transform how quality data is collected, analyzed, and used in decision-making across manufacturing. You will work closely with full stack web developers to design and build enterprise-grade tools that serve Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Technologists, and cross-functional stakeholders. You will serve as the connective tissue between technical and non-technical teams—someone who can speak the language of Six Sigma and SQL, who understands control charts as well as database architecture, and who can inspire confidence in engineers, developers, and operators alike.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering and translating requirements from quality engineers, manufacturing stakeholders, and data scientists into product specifications.
  • Building and managing a product roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Driving adoption of software tools and promoting digital transformation initiatives within quality and manufacturing domains.
  • Facilitating cross-functional communication, resolving stakeholder conflicts, and aligning teams with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Leading user testing, feedback loops, and continuous improvement cycles with a focus on usability and data integrity.
  • Managing and prioritizing product backlogs in an agile development environment.
  • Ensuring that software tools are designed with statistical rigor, reliability, and scalability.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of product management or technical program management experience, preferably in manufacturing, quality systems, or enterprise software.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, quality professionals, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate alignment across stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects independently with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, product development lifecycles, and user-centered design.
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and data analytics platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in project/product management (PMP, CAPM, CSM, SAFE, etc.).
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Toyota Production System, FMEA, and structured problem-solving frameworks (8D, Ishikawa, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, in-situ process monitoring, material and dimensional analysis, Six Sigma, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data visualization, databases, and/or basic programming (Python, R, etc.).
  • Understanding of enterprise software architecture, data pipelines, and system integration.
  • Experience working in startups or high-growth environments, with an ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex systems and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build consensus across multiple departments and functions.
Work Environment
  • This role is fully on-site at our Torrance, CA headquarters.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
