Our platform combines MES, IIoT, and Pharma 4.0 capabilities into a single modern SaaS solution used across pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing sites globally.

Our culture is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and rewarding. We've been recognized as a Great Place to Work for multiple consecutive years for fostering an inclusive, mission-driven culture.

If you are passionate about pharmaceutical manufacturing technology and enjoy working at the intersection of MES delivery, customer consulting, and enterprise sales, we would love to hear from you.

This position is fully remote within the United States, with up to 25% travel for customer engagements. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.

About the Role

Vimachem is seeking a Lead MES Consultant & Solution Engineer with strong experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing systems and MES platforms.

This role combines implementation leadership and solution consulting, supporting both successful project delivery and enterprise sales engagements. You will work closely with pharmaceutical manufacturers to design, implement, and optimize digital manufacturing workflows using the Vimachem Pharma MES platform.

You will also collaborate with the sales team to support technical validation, demonstrations, and solution architecture discussions during enterprise sales cycles.

Why Top Consultants Succeed at Vimachem

  • Technical influence: Work closely with product and engineering teams to shape the platform's evolution based on real customer needs.
  • Strategic involvement: Contribute as a technical expert during enterprise sales engagements and solution architecture discussions.
  • Growth opportunity: Play a key role in expanding Vimachem’s presence in the US life sciences manufacturing market.

What Will You Do as a Lead MES Consultant & Solution Engineer?

  • Act as the lead MES consultant on customer projects, guiding implementations from process analysis through configuration, testing, deployment, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Design and configure digital manufacturing workflows using Vimachem’s no-code / low-code MES tools.
  • Collaborate with QA, production, and IT stakeholders to ensure MES implementations align with GMP and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with the sales team as a solution engineer, supporting enterprise opportunities with demonstrations, technical discussions, and solution validation.
  • Deliver technical demonstrations and workshops for prospects and customers.
  • Contribute to RFx responses, technical assessments, and security questionnaires during enterprise sales processes.
  • Support the scoping and estimation of MES implementation projects delivered by the Vimachem Professional Services team.
  • Coordinate with EU consulting teams to ensure alignment with delivery standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot system behavior and support customers during deployments and hypercare.
  • Provide customer insights and product feedback to product and engineering teams to improve the platform.
  • Contribute to internal best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environments or consulting with pharmaceutical manufacturing clients.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with MES platforms such as Werum PAS-X, Emerson Syncade, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell PharmaSuite, Tulip, or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of GMP workflows, batch manufacturing processes, and electronic batch records (EBR).
  • Experience implementing or working with manufacturing digital systems such as MES, OEE, shopfloor data systems, or digital batch records.
  • Experience delivering technical demonstrations, workshops, or training for MES platforms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales or solution consulting activities is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer engagements.

At Vimachem, we know exceptional candidates sometimes hesitate to apply. If you are excited about this role but do not meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply — we would love to explore your potential fit.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
