Compensation: $240,000 to $280,000 per year
Job duties – Designing, building, and scaling production services in Python, Go, and Rust. Debugging production issues and supporting customers in their integration of the company's services. Creating long term strategies and tooling to improve the stability, debuggability, monitoring, and support for company’s services and customers. Implementing new features of the Lightning Protocol to keep the company’s services at the cutting edge of the Lightning Network. Learning and sharing knowledge around the Lightning Network, Bitcoin Network, and other blockchains to contribute to the company’s highly collaborative environment. Collaborating with the Lightning network and Bitcoin communities to make core protocol improvements. Leading and mentoring a local team of Lightning Engineers. Acting as a technical leader to ensure the integrity of the platform and promote good practices across the team. Build frameworks to collect and deeply analyze Lightning data for the purpose of solution improvement.
Education and Experience required – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering and 7 years of experience in Software Engineering or related occupation.
Background –
1) 7 years of experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining API services and distributed systems using GraphQL, REST, Thrift, Manhattan, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Memcached;
2) 7 years of experience working with engineering and product leadership teams to help drive technical strategy and roadmaps by identifying problems, ideating solutions, formulating milestones and delivery dates;
3) 7 years of experience mentoring engineers by providing specific, actionable feedback both adhoc and in annual reviews, performing code reviews on Github and Phabricator, reviewing design documents in Google Drive, and helping break down projects;
4) 5 years of experience developing novel engineering solutions using Go and Rust, Python, Scala, Java, and Kotlin;
5) 2 years of experience working with AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Docker;
6) 2 years of experience configuring deployments using Helm and Terraform, while implementing monitoring and alerting best practices using Prometheus and Grafana.
Location – Culver City, CA (May telecommute within a reasonable commuting distance from the office)
