Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join the Workplace Technology End User Compute Platform Operations Team. This role will be instrumental in shaping and leading a high-performing operations team, working closely with product owners and principal engineers to deliver a scalable, secure, modern desktop and mobility platform across the enterprise.
In this role, you will:
- Support & troubleshoot operating system, network, infrastructure and application related issues.
- Manage and optimize device provisioning workflows with Autopilot, Intune, and SCCM, analyzing system & deployment logs to identify root causes or implement corrective actions.
- Support large-scale enterprise desktop migrations on all environment such as virtual, physical and cloud.
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate endpoint protection products - CrowdStrike, Defender, Symantec Endpoint Protection and BitLocker.
- Collaborate with secure network teams when issues arise with compute + VPN, proxy, and firewall-related issues impacting endpoint performance.
- Configure and manage device policies, conditional access, and compliance using a variety of tools including Intune, Entra and GPO.
- Use SRE principles to monitor and analyze endpoint performance and user experience via Aternity, ThousandEyes, Prometheus, Splunk, Graph and KQL.
- Develop and maintain manual & automation scripts using PowerShell, Python and Ansible.
- Implement self-healing and telemetry-based alerting mechanisms for proactive issue resolution.
- Lead operational support and continuous improvement initiatives for enterprise desktop and mobility platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement efficient platform support strategies.
- Drive the transition of the enterprise device fleet to modern cloud-managed endpoints.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, support and lifecycle of:
- Windows 11 physical devices
- Apple macOS devices
- iOS and Android mobile devices
- Windows 365 Cloud PCs
- Citrix & VMware virtual desktops
- Ensure platform reliability, performance, and security across hybrid, remote, and in-office environments.
- 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of enterprise desktop engineering experience with Windows 10/11 & Apple OSX
- 5+ years of enterprise operations for mobile iPhone & Android devices & operating systems
- Proven experience in maintaining on-prem, PaaS & SaaS compute infrastructure used for enterprise endpoint management
- Enterprise expertise or familiarity with scripting or programming in languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, C#, .NET, Java, YAML or similar
- Hands-on experience managing compute in Microsoft Azure, Entra, Intune, SCCM
- Hands on experience using the following environments, products and technologies: Aternity, 1K Eyes, Prometheus, Graph, KQL, Splunk, Google Cloud, Global Protect, Broadcom WSS, CrowdStrike, Defender, Symantec Endpoint Protection, BitLocker, SecureDoc WinMagic
- Proficient in reading, deciphering and using diagnostic logs as a mean of troubleshooting
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Possesses core Site Reliability Engineering skills
- Enterprise support on virtualization desktops such as Citrix & Windows 365 Cloud PCs
- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM)
- 24X7 rotated on call. Some nights and weekends may be necessary.
