The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Unified Marketing team is building the next generation of marketing solutions and is singularly focused on the needs of the Marketer. Our success is defined by our end-user's success with both our current and future state Marketing Engagement solutions.

We lean into cohesive end-to-end campaign management experiences, allowing our customers to humanize moments for their customers, harness efficiencies to do more with less, and optimize the impact of their marketing spend. We define and build a Marketing Engagement product portfolio that strives to meet the needs of every marketing team for customers of all sizes, shapes, and industries.

Salesforce has immediate opportunities for very versatile Software Engineers who want their lines of code to have significant and measurable positive impact on users, the company's bottom line, and the industry. Marketing Cloud engineering builds innovative features across content, channels, data, and orchestration.

You will work with a group of outstanding engineers to build the breakthrough features our customers will love, embrace, and use while keeping our trusted platform stable and scalable.

The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, system design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality. We pride ourselves in writing high-quality, maintainable code that strengthens the stability of the product and makes our “future self” life more manageable.

We celebrate the individual strengths of each team member while cultivating everyone on the team to grow into the best version of themselves. We believe autonomous teams will empower individuals, products, companies, and customers to thrive.

Your Impact:

  • Design & Develop high-quality code to improve platform reliability, availability, and scalability

  • Design, implement, and tune robust APIs and API framework-related features that perform and scale in a multi-tenant environment

  • Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow by pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code

  • Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale

  • Contribute to building and maintaining the shared system context, an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably

  • Critically evaluate code (Human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance

  • Lead, collaborate, communicate, and mentor others on the team and in the company.

  • Handle large data sets in the cloud.

  • Build novel capabilities and new services leveraging and extending complex platforms.

  • Design and implement intelligent and thorough testing strategies to ensure quality delivery

  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems in real time and keep services operational and highly available.

Required skills:

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience

  • Deep knowledge of Java.

  • Knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST, GraphQL, etc) and a strong understanding of distributed systems and concepts such as reliability, scalability, and performance.

  • Deep knowledge of data concepts related to relational databases, including the ability to build, execute, and debug complex queries.

  • Experience developing client-side code via JavaScript/TypeScript/Ajax/etc

  • Experience developing in an enterprise environment such as source code control, IDE, continuous deployment, and release management (Git, perforce, Eclipse, Intellij, VSCode, Jenkins)

  • A demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering. Using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty.

  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows

  • Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready.

  • Experience with Agile software development and Test Driven Development methodologies

  • Experience with complex platforms

  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment

  • A related technical degree required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent cross-group communication and problem-solving skills

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
