JOB SUMMARY
The Lead DevOps Engineer plays a key role in building and maintaining our secure and scalable cloud infrastructure. This role partners with development and security teams to optimize our DevOps processes and implement new technologies to ensure efficient and secure deployments. This role reports to the Director, IT Infrastructure and Security.
Essential Functions:
Thought leader in managing and extending our current AWS infrastructure with focus on Security, Resiliency, and Observability
Lead the Development team in automation/performance optimization and best practice adoption
Serve as the main point of contact and SME for assigned services, capabilities and roadmap, providing guidance and expertise when designing solutions for business needs
Participate in R&D for process improvement and release speed
Partner with other IT teams, as well as business verticals, to automate manual processes with scalability, cohesion, and security in mind
Build and maintain strong relationships with our vendors and service providers
Leverage APIs to script and automate various IT operations
Identify, evaluate and implement new services to address the needs of our team members and clients
Enforce compliance requirements
Quickly identify, communicate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues
Build and maintain detailed and accurate documentation for our processes and workflows
Grow technical skills and mentor team members with their growth.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with: AWS, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), Docker & Containers, Terraform, GitLab (or equivalent CI/CD), Bash, MySQL (Aurora a plus), Okta, Duo, Zscaler, Jumpcloud and the like.
Advanced understanding of Information Security, IAM, LDAP, APIs, and Networking
Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Linux OS
Consistently maintains a high attention to detail
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proven track record of proactively identifying and solving problems
Assist development team in automation/performance optimizations and best practice adoption
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Enjoys working in a collaborative fast-moving dynamic environment
Self-starter with ability to effectively problem solve, prioritize, and execute tasks with minimal direction or supervision
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Information Technology discipline or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Pursuing or have obtained certifications in: AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator Associate)
7 or more years of overall IT experience, with 5 or more years of DevOps in a cloud-native environment
