RegScale is a continuous controls monitoring (CCM) platform purpose-built to deliver fast and efficient GRC outcomes. We help organizations break out of the slow and expensive realities that plague legacy GRC tools by bridging security, risk, and compliance through controls lifecycle management. By leveraging CCM, organizations experience massive process improvements like 90% faster certification times, and 60% less audit prep time. Today’s expansive security and compliance requirements can only be met with a modern, CCM based approach, and RegScale is the leader in that space.

Position:

RegScale is looking for a visionary Lead Designer to shape the look, feel, and usability of our platform as we scale. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building and driving the design strategy across product, web, and brand experiences. You’ll be the champion of our users — turning complex workflows into elegant, intuitive interfaces that delight customers and accelerate adoption.

If you thrive at the intersection of creativity, technology, and business — and want to help lead design at a company defining a new market category — we’d love to meet you.

Position must be a US Citizen and is subject to a background check and unannounced drug testing requirements. This is a remote position, however candidate will be expected to travel to our R&D office in Knoxville, TN approximately once a quarter. We know how valuable your creativity and leadership skills are to our company’s success, and we offer an exceptional salary and benefits package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. If you’re ready to work on the most cutting-edge design challenges, we are excited to have you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve RegScale’s design language and user experience across our core platform, marketing website, and supporting materials.
  • Lead design strategy and execution — from concept to delivery — ensuring world-class usability, consistency, and visual appeal.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to translate business goals and technical requirements into cohesive design systems.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, advocating for design best practices and user-centric thinking across the company.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform data-driven design decisions. This includes engaging directly with customers to learn about customer problems, understand how they currently perform work, and present design ideas and prototypes.
  • Create interactive prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design intent.
  • Ensure responsive, accessible, and scalable design across multiple devices and form factors.
  • Contribute to front-end implementation (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Bootstrap) to bridge design and development.
  • Support executives and marketing teams with design input for sales presentations, collateral, and events.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX or Product Design, ideally in SaaS or B2B enterprise software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating elegant, intuitive design solutions and clear reasoning behind them.
  • Deep experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and modern design tools.
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive frameworks like Bootstrap or Material).
  • Familiarity with Agile development environments and iterative product delivery.
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to clearly articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A self-starter mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to pass a background check, and subject to random workplace drug testing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience building or leading a design team at a startup or high-growth company.
  • Strong understanding of information architecture and interaction design for complex enterprise workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in design systems and component libraries.
  • Passion for simplifying complex problems through thoughtful, user-centered design.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
