Candidate should have approx. 20 years of working experience must have previous experience of Auto OEM in component and system management utilizing all of the key attributes, with a demonstrable record of delivery of the accountabilities...Lead a cross functional team to collectively deliver the whole vehicle specification targets. Rich Experience with systems of Body Engineering such as Under Body, Front End Assy, Rear End Assy, Body Shell and GA Parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical Project Management in collaboration with Designer Engineers, Project Leads and the Technical Management Team. This Roles reports in to Head, Advanced Body Engineering to work on all aspects of delivery on the ongoing / future vehicle programmes.
  • Should have approx. 20 years of working experience must have previous experience of Auto OEM in component and system management utilising all of the key attributes, with a demonstrable record of delivery of the accountabilities.

Lead a cross functional team to collectively deliver the whole vehicle specification targets. Rich Experience with systems of Body Engineering such as Under Body, Front End Assy, Rear End Assy, Body Shell and GA Parts.

  • Management of component and system level delivery at each project milestone, including styling feasibility
  • Closely working with the Design Engineers to identify and specify design activity required, interpret requirements of the Design Engineers, estimate time to complete and construct a work plan that supports the release schedule.
  • Co-ordinate & manage the cross functional teams, suppliers to ensure component and system level delivery .
  • Identification of opportunities to reduce complexity, cost and weight Technical Specifications – Define and document the technical scope for each system, ensuring it meets all legal requirements and project specification targets. Include details of DVP testing and an accompanying RASIC;
  • Prepare and implement DFMEA requirements for significant and critical characteristics and ensure the design satisfies these to meet all targets;
  • Engineering Release – Define and meet all engineering release dates to support program timing.
  • DFMEA actions will be resolved and all outstanding BCR’s (Build Concern Reports) embodied and documented at the point of release;
  • Engineering Change Management through the release phase
  • Management of Engineering BOM Management Meeting the Cost & Time target
  • Supplier Delivery – Manage each supplier with a cross functional team of Design, SQA, Quality Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Dimensional Management, Manufacturing and Service personnel to ensure complete PPAP is delivered for every component to support program timing
  • Next Generation Production Component - continually explore new technologies, materials and processes for responsible systems and maintain the component roadmap for future programmes highlighting ways of enhancing the product offering.

Job Description

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • B.S / M.S in Mechanical Engineering with approximately 20 years of working exp.
  • Strong technical project management with proven evidence of decision making and accountability is essential. It is core to the success of our business that these primary roles have the required level of leadership and motivation to succeed; Proven leadership of design and cross-functional teams.
  • Good commercial awareness to maintain a focus on cost, profit, quality and risk.
  • A strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight and cost target.;
  • Supplier management, comfortable with understanding and implementing DFM requirements within the project scope.
  • Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree
  • Background in low volume, high performance sports or racing cars preferred;
  • Documentation of Technical Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, Minutes and Actions of Meetings;
  • CATIA V5 2D/3D skills desirable but not essential.

  • Must have a flexible approach to working hours, travel requirements and adaptability to changing and multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of current legal standards and directives Understanding of the design, weight, cost and quality constraints of a variety of Body Exterior materials and manufacturing processes
  • Advanced problem solving abilities
  • Able to connect and resolve with suppliers on all technical issues
  • Ability to work as a team player to enhance the project team environment, ensure support to colleagues, and maximize efficiency
