Bold is looking for our first Lead Data Scientist to create measurement frameworks and test user hypotheses to help our product and marketing teams develop features for our members.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Lead Data Scientist who is great at working cross-functionally to solve business challenges and envisions a world where every aging adult has access to personalized, easy-to-follow online workouts.  This is a full time role located in LA and will report to our Chief Operating Officer.

As a key member of our team, here’s what you’ll do:

Key Outcomes: 

  • Develop a long-term vision for how our platform will extend the health span of our members with available data 
  • Create measurement frameworks and test user hypotheses to help our product and marketing teams develop features for our members
  • Publish studies as a part of our clinical outcomes team that show the impact of our platform on our members’ health
  • Work with our leadership team to solve cross-functional problems facing the business
  • Educate our team on how to approach data problems with intellectual rigor and objectivity

The most important skills for the role are*:

  • You have 5+ years of data and/or clinical experience at a high-performing healthcare organization or startup
  • You are proficient in conducting statistical analyses using Python, R, or SAS, as well as in designing quasi-experiments to validate assumptions
  • You are adept in managing large datasets, conducting ROI analysis using claims data, and understanding healthcare claims codes and regulations
  • You are able to integrate and analyze Apple HealthKit data, develop in-product and ad-hoc reports, and perform population-level analyses
  • You actively seek out feedback and collaborate often with leaders and subject matter experts to improve your output and your broader skillset
  • You are eager to work with focused intensity
  • You are creative, proactive, and excited about exploring new ideas that will help us better understand the business
  • You are comfortable operating with uncertainty and unknowns
  • You are ambitious and want to build something noteworthy in health tech
  • You love building businesses - the idea that your work can help accelerate the growth of an early-stage startup is motivating to you

Compensation: 

We’re committed to an inclusive, consistent, and equitable approach to compensation and anticipate that this position will earn between $165-190k annually. The exact salary will depend on the amount of relevant and transferable experience you bring to the role. You will also receive meaningful equity in the form of a stock option grant.
