Group FP&A Lead Analyst – Finance Business Intelligence (Reporting and Data Engineering)
About the role
The Group FP&A team is an integral part of Dyson’s Finance community and is supported by data-driven analysis and insights. The Finance Business Intelligence (FBI) team delivers reporting and analysis of performance across the group, both financial and non-financial, liaising directly with global teams to provide support to the Dyson Executive Team. As a Centre of Excellence for Financial Analysis and Data, we deliver strategic insights and future-ready solutions to enable data-driven decision making as a valued and credible business partner.

The FBI team has 3 core pillars – Data, Visualisation and Finance, and team members are developed with a specialisation track, but with strong working knowledge across all pillars.
You will have a strong technical understanding of data platforms, visualization tools and financial reporting, with advanced proficiency in one of the aspects. Adaptability, flexibility and resourcefulness in delivering a challenging roadmap whilst our data landscape is transforming, will be key to your success.
We use Google Cloud Platform and Tableau as our main technologies, but also have an estate of data and reporting platforms. Application of these tools, or similar, to design solutions is key. There may also be times that you need to get hands on with this technology, delivering content yourself and exploring new functionality available in our toolset.
You will be highly organised, enjoy delivering high quality analytics solutions and challenging the status quo.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:
• Designing efficient solutions through the gathering of good quality user requirements and applying technical expertise
• Leading the delivery of new or enhanced products, identifying and communicating risks or opportunities to the delivery timeline
• Overseeing maintenance of functional and technical documentation behind products
• Collaborating with the Group IT, Group Finance Systems and Group Reporting teams across the business to deliver mutually beneficial analytics products
• Championing the use of data and analytics, driving adoption and growth in the user base
About you
• Finance background is essential, ideally with a relevant Finance degree, or a designation from a recognised accounting body (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Good commercial awareness, with knowledge of Financial data
• Strong delivery skills - organised, delivery focused and deadline driven
• Demonstrated success of project delivery / business change within BI and Visualisation tools
• Determined to identify solutions and be prepared to overcome obstacles to follow through plans to completion
• Ability to communicate complex ideas simply, and to translate user requirements into solutions
• Ability to work with data engineers to fine tune data pipeline for analytics
• Experience using Tableau is essential
• Applied knowledge of a range of data platforms such as SQL Server, GCP, SAP BW, S4/HANA
• Basic SQL skills
• Passionate about data and/or visualisation best practice, driving data-culture in terms of adoption, self-serve and growth in user base
