The Landman I/II/III/IV is responsible for supporting the acquisition, management, and development of oil and gas assets through effective land practices. This role involves negotiating leases and land agreements, curing mineral tile, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support drilling and development activities. This individual will ensure accurate recordkeeping, compliance with lease obligations, and provides analysis and reporting to inform strategic decisions. Success in this role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.


The Landman I/II/III/IV responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Negotiate and acquire oil and gas leases, deeds, and other land-related agreements.
  • Oversee and direct third-party brokers providing land-related services.
  • Conduct title research and analyze ownership to determine leasing opportunities and resolve title issues.
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, and geological teams to support drilling and development plans.
  • Maintain accurate land records and ensure compliance with lease terms and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports, maps, and documentation to support land activities and decision-making.
  • Monitor and advise lease obligations, including rental payments, extensions, and expirations.
  • Assist in resolving land-related disputes and claims.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 2+ years of relevant land experience.
  • Associate’s degree in related field.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents, maps, and title records.
  • Excellent mapping skills (Tax, Farmline and TOPO).
  • Proficiency in land management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and deed plotting software.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Membership in AAPL (American Association of Professional Landmen) or similar organization
  • Experience with both conventional and unconventional resource plays
  • Proficiency in Quorum: Experience using the Quorum platform for land management tasks, including tracking ownership records, managing lease data, and generating reports.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce: Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM, with the ability to manage and analyze contact and negotiation data. Skilled in tracking stakeholder interactions and supporting lease acquisition and campaign execution.
  • Preference for candidates residing in the Appalachian region.

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states:  California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
