Pickle is a rental marketplace that aims to monetize the billions of underutilized assets sitting in consumers closets and brands inventory. Users can easily tap into shared closets within their community through flexible and/or on-demand delivery options. Our goal is to provide affordable and convenient access to quality items exactly when our users need them. We are starting with P2P clothing/accessories and expanding to other categories.

We are looking for an LA based employee to drive expansion in the LA market. We are looking for someone who is well connected in the LA area to help build out our LA closets and expand the Pickle community. This candidate is someone who is very passionate about Pickle and the fashion space. They will be integral to building relationships with influencers, local brands and community members. They will be responsible for LA influencer outreach and onboarding, shooting local social media content, identifying and executing on local brand partnerships, and creating and hosting frequent community events.

Given the events focus, this role will require frequent evening and weekend work.

Salary range is $100K-$135K USD + benefits + equity.


Requirements

You'll be a fit for this role if...

  • You’ve got the experience and relevant local knowledge
    • 5-8 years of experience, with a focus on growth, strategy & operations, market launching, marketing generalist and/or community roles
    • Proven ability to own a market end-to-end: strategy, metrics, execution, and iteration
    • Track record of driving user acquisition, supply growth, and revenue
    • Proven ability to execute events on tight timelines and adapt quickly
    • Comfortable working with data and metrics—able to measure marketplace health, diagnose issues, and adjust tactics
    • Deep awareness of the LA influencer scene, local brand ecosystem, and cultural touchpoints
    • Skilled at identifying culturally relevant, brand-aligned partners and turning relationships into activations
    • Deep understanding of Pickle's target LA audience
    • Experience driving RSVPs and event turnout with minimal budget, leveraging creative tactics and community networks
    • Sales and/or influencer experience, converting influencers into active users and building a WOM engine

  • You’re flexible and reliable. This role will require you to work evenings and weekends, and being able to respond to inquiries at the drop of a hat. Being open to change and being flexible with your availability all while being dependable is an absolute must.
  • You’re analytical. You'll be asked to report on marketplace health and city growth in this role, so you should be comfortable looking at metrics and curious to dive in deeper to deliver insights.

Bonus

  • Early stage startup experience - you understand what it takes to scale a Seed/Series A company
  • Proven experience building community—whether through digital platforms or IRL activations
  • Familiarity with rental marketplaces, sharing economy, or similar industries
  • Experience with basic design (eg. Canva for event invites)

Responsibilities

  • Market Ownership: Own LA’s growth strategy and execution, including supply, demand, and revenue. Build and nurture a thriving community of renters and lenders in LA - you'll be the key person driving user acquisition, supply growth and rentals in LA.
  • Growth Experimentation: Identify, test, and scale new growth levers—whether that’s novel influencer programs, brand activations, partnerships, scrappy marketing tactics or community-driven tactics—to drive user acquisition and rentals.
  • Influencer Partnerships: Lead outreach, onboarding, and relationship management (20+ calls/week), turning influencer relationships into consistent supply and rental growth.
  • Activations & Events: Ideate, plan, and execute multiple IRL events, activations, and growth initiatives each month that build brand awareness, generate rentals, and expand community reach.
  • Brand Partnerships: Build relationships with local brands and communities to unlock creative collaborations that drive awareness and adoption.
  • Funnel Management: Own the user funnel in LA—design and execute strategies to convert new users into active renters and repeat customers.
  • Community Engagement: Create initiatives to activate, retain, and celebrate the LA Pickle community, fostering loyalty and word-of-mouth growth.
  • Data & Insights: Define KPIs, monitor marketplace health, and analyze performance across growth initiatives—using data to refine strategy and double down on what works.
