Role Description

As the Innovation Strategist for Learning & Development at Dropbox, you’ll be the force behind the future of learning—building, piloting, and scaling AI-enabled, tech-forward learning strategies that elevate the experience of Dropboxers across the employee lifecycle.

You’ll lead our innovation process from ideation to implementation, researching emerging trends, experimenting with new technologies, and developing scalable learning experiences that are personalized, accessible, and measurable. You’ll also manage the L&D tech stack, ensuring it enables experimentation and execution across onboarding, skills development, and leadership growth.

You will collaborate deeply with Learning Design, Delivery, and People Tech teams to test new methods and integrate successful innovations into our core offerings. You’ll also serve as a translator between future-of-learning trends and real-world implementation—helping the team stay inspired, informed, and forward-looking.

This role is ideal for a systems thinker with strong technical fluency, creative problem-solving skills, and a deep commitment to shaping the next chapter of learning in a Virtual First, AI-powered workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Dropbox’s L&D innovation strategy: develop and manage a sustainable pipeline for exploring, evaluating, and scaling AI-enabled and tech-forward learning solutions.
  • Build and implement a process for ongoing research and innovation—identifying learning trends, surfacing opportunities, and converting insights into pilot programs.
  • Manage the L&D technology ecosystem—assess tools, recommend upgrades, and oversee vendor relationships to ensure scalable infrastructure.
  • Pilot and scale innovative learning methods, collaborating with Design and Delivery to ensure strong learner experience and alignment to Dropbox strategy
  • Drive development of learning technology platforms, including platform enhancements and AI-powered features to increase personalization and impact.
  • Develop and deliver AI-enabled learning experiences, including microlearning, adaptive content, or in-flow nudges that meet learners where they are.
  • Build team-wide fluency in the future of learning—keeping the team informed on evolving tools, methods, and insights.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Computer Science, Human-Centered Design, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in learning innovation, L&D strategy, instructional design, or product management of learning technologies.
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling AI- or tech-enabled learning solutions, with measurable impact on experience or performance.
  • Strong understanding of learning technologies, including LMS/LXP platforms, content authoring tools, AI integrations, and analytics systems
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing innovation pipelines or structured experimentation cycles.
  • Excellent collaboration skills—able to bring together cross-functional teams and co-create with Design, Delivery, Tech, and external partners
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence decisions through compelling narratives.
  • Experience integrating AI tools or automation into workflows to enhance efficiency, personalization, or insight generation in L&D or operational contexts.
  • Proven success applying HR as a product approaches to program design or delivery, with a focus on driving learner outcomes and operational excellence.
  • Comfort with UX/design thinking principles to co-create, test, and refine learner-centric experiences in fast-moving, data-informed environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in strategic foresight, innovation strategy, or product innovation within L&D, HR, or EdTech.
  • Experience developing learning experiences that incorporate natural language processing, generative AI, or adaptive learning systems.
  • Skill in trend analysis—translating macro trends in work, technology, and learning into actionable L&D opportunities.
  • Ability to translate future-facing insights into near-term strategy and practical action.
Compensation
Canada Pay Range
$114,300$154,700 CAD
