Kid Zone Staff

The South Coast Metro Family YMCA is seeking friendly, service driven individuals for a part-time Kid Zone role by creating a safe, welcoming space for children while supporting families and advancing our People Promise through exceptional care, connection, and community impact. The Kid Zone Staff will support the development of an engaging, dynamic, and well-supervised setting for all participants, while cultivating an inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Purpose and Impact:

• Be a Mentor: 
  • Build supportive, positive relationships with children and families, model YMCA values, and encourage growth, confidence, and belonging.
• Prioritize Safety: 
  • Maintain a healthy, secure environment through active supervision, safety checks, and proper response to incidents and emergencies.
• Inspire Positive Engagement: 
  • Lead developmentally appropriate activities, follow daily schedules, and promote positive behavior that enriches each child’s visit.
• Build Positive Connections:
  • Provide welcoming, responsive service to families, encourage participation in Y programs, and contribute to a professional, collaborative team culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum Age: 16 years with valid work permit.
• Experience & Skills:
  • Preferred 2 years' work experience with children ages 6 weeks to 11 years old.
  • Experience in customer service preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Certifications:
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
