What is The Role

We're looking to add a Senior Product Manager to the Platform Team for the Elastic Stack and Elastic Cloud, the official managed service for running Elasticsearch. In this role you will be responsible for defining and delivering core services and components for which our search, observability, and security user experiences are built off of. You will help create and maintain amazing user experiences that help data admins manage their data in Elastic at scale. To be successful, you will bring a strong eye for all things UX, be technically minded, and thrive in cross-functional environments–building consensus across varied stakeholders and use cases.

What you will be doing
  • Partner to define the vision and strategy for Data Management in Elasticsearch and Kibana and to develop the overall data admin experience
  • Partner with Elastic Solution teams across the organization to deliver great user experiences for the data manager personas that simplifies what it means to manage data in Elastic at scale
  • Gathering, synthesizing, and disseminating feedback from internal and external customers and the community to develop product insights and support business requirements
  • Work closely with our engineering tech leads and UI/UX designers on detailed API design, technical specifications, and high level requirements
  • Develop detailed use-cases and product requirements, working closely with engineering teams through the design, development, and release processes
  • Define and measure product metrics to monitor performance and growth
  • Support product marketing and sales enablement to craft customer-focused messaging and content
What you bring along
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably building solutions related to B2B / SaaS / Platforms
  • Knowledge of the Elastic Stack - particularly Elasticsearch and Kibana - along with opensource experience is very strongly preferred
  • Experience in data management areas of SaaS data platform products
  • Excellent ability to distill complex concepts into clear API designs and requirements with a focus on detailed technical domain design
  • Strong sense for what makes great UX and technical design. Demonstrate experience working closely with engineering and design teams to collaborate on details
  • The ability to dive deeply into the technical understanding of how a product works.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Experience or willingness to work in a distributed organization


Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$153,100$195,600 USD
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:
$179,900$232,900 USD
