T-Rex Solutions is looking to select a Junior Software Test Lead to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) EDOS program. The overall mission of this program is to modernize the IRS legacy Tax processing systems and is critical to the overall modernization of the IRS to improve taxpayer experience, increase voluntary compliance, and reduce the IRS’s reliance on costly and unsustainable legacy technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and understanding the project requirements, creating detailed test plans and cases, setting up test environments, and executing manual and automated tests.
  • Log and track defects, perform regression and acceptance tests, and ensure the updated code meets all functional and non-functional requirements. 
  • Document activities, report progress to stakeholders, and continuously improve testing processes to maintain the quality and reliability of the modernized code.

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass an IRS public trust investigation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels 
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup by applying interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project goals.
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Experience with test script creation and execution management
  • Experience with test automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
  • Experience backend testing including APIs and database (SQL knowledge is a plus)
  • Experience with software development lifecycle
  • Experience with continuous integration/ continuous delivery (CI/CD)

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with non-functional testing is a plus (Accessibility, Performance, Security, etc.)
  • Current IRS clearance desired

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $77,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
