We are looking for an exceptional Junior Finance and Accounting Assistant.

About the Role

This role requires a combination of:

  • Basic finance and accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Interpersonal / people / relationship skills.
  • Very strong attention to financial and operational details.
  • Desire to learn advanced accounting rules and procedures.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of finance and accounting tasks under deadline pressure.
  • Good communications skills.

As a Junior Finance and Accounting Assistant, you will assist both the Head of Finance and the rest of the Finance team in performing finance, accounting and operations tasks.

We're looking for someone who is smart, a quick learner, resourceful, hands-on, energetic, and highly self-motivated, with the ambition to grow into a broader role in the future.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare accounting schedules on excel including reserve for doubtful accounts, reserve for employee bonuses.
  • Prepare depreciation and amortization schedules including pre-paid assets.
  • Prepare salespeople variable compensation schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation of invoices for clients.
  • Assist with accounting and collections of accounts receivable.
  • Assist with all recurring finance functions including payroll, insurance, financial filings, audit, month end close, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Prepare various financial analysis on excel under guidance of the head of finance.
  • Assist with updates of budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with cap table and equity management.
  • Assist with preparation for board meetings and board consent.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO, COO, Financial Controller and Head of Finance.
  • Handle sensitive information, including related to personnel dynamics, with the highest level of discretion, aptitude for trust-building and professionalism.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and implement operational systems.
  • Perform occasional ad hoc tasks related to operations, finance and accounting.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience as a junior finance assistant, financial analyst, accounting assistant, controller assistant or similar role.
  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or similar.
  • Aptitude for working well with a diverse group of people in team settings.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously and take initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and calm under pressure.
  • Analytical, logical and data driven.
  • Tech-savvy and quickly adapt to new tools and platforms.
  • Required: basic understanding of accounting concepts and principles: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Account Receivable Aging, Debits and Credits, Journal Entries, Reserves and Accruals.
  • Required: Must know Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Required: Basic experience using QuickBooks Online.
  • Helpful but not required: Basic experience using Ramp and/or a Payroll platform such as TriNet, ADP or JustWorks.

Compensation range:

$90,000 - $120,000 annually. Salary is based on a range of factors that include but are not limited to relevant experience, education, and skill level.
