This is a full-time, on-site role based in Irvine, CA. Core work hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
  • Support senior sales representatives and traders with customer outreach, supplier communication, pricing requests, order follow-up, and day-to-day trading activity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, brokers, and internal partners through responsiveness, professionalism, and strong follow-through.
  • Assist with sourcing eggs from internal and external supply channels to help meet customer demand and support profitable deal execution.
  • Learn how to evaluate pricing, freight, availability, timing, and market movement to support smart commercial decisions.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product needs, pricing updates, order status, delivery timing, and service-related questions.
  • Help identify and pursue new sales opportunities across wholesale, retail, foodservice, food manufacturing, distribution, and related food channels.
  • Make outbound calls, conduct prospect research, send follow-up emails, and help develop a pipeline of potential customer and supplier relationships.
  • Partner closely with Logistics, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and Sales teams to help ensure deals are executed accurately and on time.
  • Track customer activity, pricing details, order movement, follow-up items, and account notes with strong accuracy and organization.
  • Monitor market pricing, supply-demand shifts, inventory availability, freight considerations, and industry trends.
  • Support negotiation preparation by gathering relevant customer, supplier, pricing, freight, and market information.
  • Assist with customer quotes, sales summaries, market notes, reporting, and internal tracking tools.
  • Help resolve service issues quickly by staying ahead of delays, miscommunication, order changes, or execution gaps.
  • Develop the commercial instincts, market knowledge, and relationship skills needed to eventually manage accounts or a book of business.
  • Operate with urgency, adaptability, and ownership in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in sales support, customer service, logistics coordination, business development, food distribution, brokerage, commodities, or related fields.
  • Experience in eggs, produce, dairy, protein, food & beverage, wholesale distribution, food manufacturing, or commodity markets is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interest in growing into a sales, trading, or account management career.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls, following up consistently, and building relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to be clear, professional, responsive, and service-minded.
  • Highly organized and detail-driven, with the ability to manage multiple orders, conversations, priorities, and follow-up items at once.
  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership, accountability, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment. You stay focused, flexible, and positive under pressure.
  • Solid Excel skills and comfort working with pricing, reports, order details, customer data, and internal systems.
  • Commercial mindset with curiosity around pricing, margin, supply-demand movement, negotiation, and market trends.
  • Entrepreneurial, coachable, competitive, and eager to learn from experienced sales and trading professionals.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
