Our mission is to improve the lives of people and communities by democratizing technology development in health and research.

The Role

We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer to help scale maintain, and improve the infrastructure that powers our healthcare platform. You’ll work alongside senior engineers to support CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, cloud architecture, and developer tooling that enables fast, safe, and cost-effective software delivery.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain exposure to a modern DevOps toolset (Terraform, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, and more) while contributing to infrastructure reliability, developer experience, and platform security in a highly regulated environment. You’ll be expected to participate in an on-call rotation and will be supported with mentorship and opportunities for growth as you build your technical depth.

You’ll be:

  • Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
  • Deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes
  • Collaborating with engineers to improve developer experience and internal tooling (Nx, monorepos)
  • Assisting with cloud cost visibility and optimization (AWS, KubeCost)
  • Participating in on-call rotations and helping drive incident response
  • Monitoring system health and maintaining observability tooling
  • Writing and maintaining clear, useful documentation and runbooks
  • Learning from senior engineers and participating in architecture discussions
  • Supporting and evolving our cloud infrastructure, with a focus on scalable, secure architecture in AWS
  • Participate in the modernization of legacy infrastructure stacks
What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, empathy, and a desire to grow. Here are some of the capabilities we value in this role:

  • 1-3 years experience
  • Foundational experience in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred)
  • Exposure to CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions preferred)
  • Interest or experience in containerization and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes preferred)
  • Comfort navigating cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Understanding of system observability and monitoring practices (Cloudwatch Preferred)
  • Awareness of security best practices and working within compliant environments
  • A bias toward action and a willingness to ask questions or propose solutions
  • Pride in producing quality work, while being open to feedback and collaboration
  • Empathy for other teams, recognizing that great infrastructure serves developers, product, and customers alike
Nice to Have
  • Experience working in startups or fast-moving teams
  • Familiarity with our core stack: React, Kubernetes, AWS, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions
  • Experience operating in highly regulated industries (Healthcare, FinTech, Government, etc.)
  • A personal connection to Chorus’s mission and a clear sense of what motivates you to grow with the team over time
Why You’ll Love Working with Us
  • Mission-driven teammates dedicated to improving lives by tearing down tech barriers.
  • Diverse, inclusive culture where every voice is valued.
  • Full medical, dental, vision, and life-insurance benefits.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Stock-option eligibility.
  • Unlimited PTO and generous paid parental leave.
  • Performance-based bonuses and career-development stipends.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
