About the Role

We’re looking for a driven, resourceful, and people-oriented Junior Customer Success Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, enjoys building relationships, and takes ownership of getting things done.

You might have one year of experience in customer success, sales, account management, or customer service. Or, you might be someone who has started your own side hustle, built a small business, managed clients, or taken an idea and turned it into something real.

We care more about your initiative, attitude, and ability to learn than a long résumé.

As a Junior Customer Success Manager, you’ll help our customers get the most value from our products or services, build strong relationships, solve problems, and ensure customers feel supported throughout their journey. You’ll work closely with our team to help customers succeed while developing the skills to grow into a more senior customer success role.

What You’ll Do

  • Build customer relationships: Develop strong relationships with customers and serve as a reliable, responsive point of contact.
  • Drive customer success: Help customers onboard, understand our offerings, and achieve their goals.
  • Own the customer experience: Follow up proactively, anticipate customer needs, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Solve problems: Listen to customer feedback, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with internal teams to find solutions.
  • Stay organized: Track customer conversations, follow-ups, and account activity in our CRM or other internal tools.
  • Identify opportunities: Recognize ways to improve customer satisfaction, engagement, retention, and growth.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work with sales, operations, and other departments to deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Keep improving: Learn our products, processes, and customers while actively seeking feedback and opportunities to improve.

Who You Are

  • You’re someone who takes initiative, follows through, and doesn’t wait to be told what to do. You enjoy working with people, solving problems, and figuring things out.
  • You may be a great fit if you have:
  • At least one year of experience in customer success, customer service, sales, account management, hospitality, or another customer-facing role; OR
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial initiative, such as starting a side hustle, running a small business, freelancing, selling products or services, building an online brand, or managing your own clients or projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • The ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A genuine interest in helping customers succeed and building lasting relationships.
  • A willingness to receive feedback, take responsibility, and continuously improve.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, you’ll work toward:

  • Learning our products, services, customers, and internal processes.
  • Building confidence in customer conversations and follow-up.
  • Managing assigned customer tasks and accounts with increasing independence.
  • Delivering timely, thoughtful support and resolving customer needs.
  • Establishing a reputation as someone customers trust and teammates can count on.

Requirements

Either 1+ year as a Customer Success Manager at an e-commerce company, or 1+ year owning and operating your own e-commerce business

  • Hands-on understanding of how online stores run day to day, such as storefront platforms, order fulfillment, payments, and handling customer issues
  • Creative problem solver with a determination to succeed
  • Independent and self-motivated, with the judgment to ask for help when needed
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine drive to help customers succeed
  • Clear, articulate communicator in both speaking and writing
  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Eager to learn and comfortable working with different teams (product, sales, marketing, etc.)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
