About Us

Retentics is an emerging AI-driven SaaS company building the future of retention and lifecycle marketing for eCommerce brands. We are currently a Pre-Series A startup, pursuing our Series A round in early 2027, making this a high-impact time to join our creative team.

We are a global team based in the U.S. and South Korea and have partnered with leading brands including Allbirds, Stumptown Coffee, JC Denim, and Beauty of Joseon. We value designers who think beyond “assets” and toward outcomes: retention, revenue, and clarity. If you’re motivated by impact, iteration, and learning fast, you’ll fit well here.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Visual Content Designer to support both client delivery and internal growth initiatives. This is an entry-level role tailored to a designer who wants to develop deep expertise in conversion-focused email design while gaining exposure to B2B marketing, sales enablement, and inbound strategy.

For your first 3 months, approximately 60% of your time will be dedicated to designing high-performing email templates for DTC eCommerce clients. The remaining time will be spent transforming written, data-driven content such as case studies, insights, and blogs into compelling visual assets used across marketing and sales.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to sharpen their craft in lifecycle marketing, CRO, and performance-oriented design.

What You’ll Do

DTC Email Production (Primary Focus)

  • Execute High-Conversion Design: Build visually compelling, mobile-first email content for leading Shopify brands.
  • Scale Lifecycle Flows: Turn high-level marketing goals into scalable, on-brand templates for key flows (Welcome, Post-Purchase, Winback, etc.).
  • Apply Performance Design: Use a "conversion-first" lens to execute layouts, hierarchy, and CTA placements that drive measurable revenue.

Marketing & Sales Asset Atomization

  • Visual Storytelling: Take raw, data-driven content (case studies, blogs, performance insights) and "atomize" it into a suite of high-quality visual assets.
  • Sales Support Production: Generate polished infographics, one-pagers, and social visuals that help our sales team turn complex AI insights into clear, persuasive stories.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the marketing and sales teams to ensure every design asset is perfectly aligned with the customer journey.

Creative Excellence & Evolution

  • System Maintenance: Work within and help evolve our internal brand guidelines and client-specific design systems in Figma.
  • Stay Sharp: Keep a pulse on the latest design tools and eCommerce trends—specifically in email, CRO, and web design.
  • Modern Web Execution: Learn and experiment with tools like Framer to build and launch high-performance landing page initiatives.
  • Impact-Driven Output: Contribute creative ideas that directly improve asset performance and production quality.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in visual design (full-time, freelance, or internships), ideally within DTC eCommerce or performance-driven marketing environments.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in DTC eCommerce, especially beauty, apparel, or consumer brands.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with email design and an understanding of how design impacts deliverability, engagement, and conversion.
  • Working knowledge of CRO concepts and performance-driven design.
  • Interest in copywriting and comfort collaborating with written content.

Mindset & Traits

  • Detail-oriented with strong visual judgment.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new tools and frameworks.
  • Able to balance creative expression with business objectives.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
