Buck Mason is looking for a Jr. Associate Designer for Women's Knits & Sweaters. The ideal candidate is a driven creative and obsessed with design, fit, and product quality. We are specifically looking for someone who has a strong knowledge in wash & dye processing as well as an immense background in vintage, military, and workwear styling. This candidate should also have an in-depth knowledge of fully-fashioned sweaters and knitting techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Create all sketches, details, and technical packages for seasonal designs
  • Conduct product, color, fit, and fabric research for seasonal concepts pertaining to woven's
  • Create flat digital sketches for presentation boards and tech packs
  • Attend fittings with Senior Designer, Design Director with tech design and updates styles and tech packs
  • Approves fabric samples, lab dips, strike-off's and other development material
  • Reports to Women’s Senior Designer for Cut & Sew Knits and Sweaters

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years applicable women’s knit's & sweaters experience 
  • Strong background in vintage garments and history of garment making
  • Must have strong knowledge in wash & dye processing for cut & sew knits
  • High taste level is a must. Buck Mason aesthetic should align with personal taste
  • Strong knowledge of the Women’s wear market and Designers
  • In-depth knowledge of vintage, military, and workwear styling
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of Adobe Suite and Excel
  • Strong knowledge of CAD sketching 
  • Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload 
  • Highly motivated and hardworking
  • Clear communicator w/ emotional intelligence
  • Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, wash processing & knitting
