Why You’re Here

You’re early in your product design career, but you’re ready to ship real work.
You care about interaction details, thoughtful UI, and how tools feel in practice — not just how they look in mockups.

At Fuser, you’ll own small but meaningful features end-to-end. You’ll work closely with our UX Researcher and founding team to turn insights into interfaces, prototypes, and shipped product. This role is about learning fast, iterating often, and helping shape a tool used by thousands of creative professionals.

What You’ll Do
  • Design UI and interaction patterns across the Fuser app

  • Create prototypes in Figma that we test, refine, and ship

  • Own small features from concept → iteration → release

  • Collaborate with UX Research, Product, and Engineering to improve flows and reduce friction

  • Help evolve Fuser’s design language as the product scales

  • Think deeply about speed, clarity, and delight in AI-native workflows

What You Bring
  • 0–2 years of experience in product or UX/UI design (or equivalent portfolio)

  • Strong skills in Figma for UI, components, and prototyping

  • Comfort thinking through user flows, states, and edge cases

  • Clear communication and openness to feedback

  • Strong self-directed instincts and the ability to drive design decisions while managing your own momentum

  • Genuine curiosity about creative tools, AI, and interaction design

  • Excitement about shipping and learning in a fast-moving product team

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools (Fuser, Figma Make, Cursor, etc.)

  • Familiarity with node-based, generative, or procedural tools

  • Motion or interaction polish experience

  • Interest in creative coding, systems design, or experimental UX

How We Think About Design at Fuser
  • The product should work at the speed of thought

  • Every interaction should help users ideate, orchestrate, and ship meaningful work

  • Power and simplicity are not opposites

  • UX matters as much as capability

  • Tools should feel expressive, not intimidating

  • And above all — it should be fun to use

How We Work

Hybrid and LA-based — based in LA with at least three days in office each week.
Creative-first culture — craft, accessibility, and feel matter
High trust, high standards — ownership early, support always
Small team, big impact — your work ships and gets used

Compensation & Growth
  • $60K–$80K USD, commensurate on experience

  • Healthcare, dental, vision, and 401(k)

  • Mentorship from the founding team

  • Flexible hours and focus on deep creative work

  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle

  • Clear growth path into a mid-level product designer role

  • Hands-on experience designing AI-native UX and shipping real features quickly

How We Interview
  1. Intro Conversation – Get to know each other and your design background

  2. Paid Take-Home Design Exercise – A scoped product design exercise focused on product thinking. (Compensated for time and contribution.)

  3. Team Conversation – Meet the team and talk collaboration, process, and growth

At Fuser, the process is the point.

Fuser is a creative technology company founded by artists, educators, and engineers. We’re building tools for professionals who ideate, orchestrate, and deliver with intention. Our flagship product is a collaborative canvas for working across text, image, video, audio, and 3D, powered by the latest AI models.

We’re a small team in Los Angeles designing the future of creative software: joyful, intuitive, and powerful tools for real-world storytelling and production.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
